Fowler put together a country band in 1998 and began playing Tuesday nights at Babe's on Sixth Street in Austin. Within two years, he'd begun recording albums and struck big with his self-released Beer, Bait and Ammo (2000). The album sold around 30,000 copies in the Texas area and garnered an impressive amount of airplay, particularly for the album's title track. The song became somewhat of a Texas anthem; Mark Chesnutt made the song part of his live show, and Sammy Kershaw recorded it. Fowler returned in 2002 with his third album, High on the Hog, and boasted some impressive guests, including Willie Nelson and David Lee Garza.

Had ....now in the edn
Use to drink more then I should,
Finelly give it up for good
But I still love the taste of gin
So many thing I finelly quit
There’s one habbit I can’t kick
Back slain knwo I;m seaking
Back again, back that road
I know I shouldn’t go
Giving to one more last time
Can’t resist and all it’s trap
There’s one thing I just can’t shake
She’s one habbit I can’t break
I never know it and I make I list
Of solution to find to quit
Never know it’s the best
I walk ém off one by one
And when I think I finelly done
There’s one that always lived
One last breath I just can’;t burn
She’s one lesson I can’t learn
She’ll call and I start thinking
Back slain knwo I;m seaking
Back again, back that road
I know I shouldn’t go
Giving to one more last time
Can’t resist and all it’s trap
There’s one thing I just can’t shake
She’s one habbit I can’t break
She’ll call and I start thinking
Back slain knwo I;m seaking
Back again, back that road
I know I shouldn’t go
Giving to one more last time
Can’t resist and all it’s trap
There’s one thing I just can’t shake
She’s one habbit I can’t break

The song "Habit I Can't Break" by Kevin Fowler is about addiction and the struggle of trying to quit certain habits. The first few lines talk about the struggle to quit smoking and drinking, but there's one habit that the singer can't seem to shake. That habit is a woman who keeps calling him, and every time she calls, he starts thinking about her and their past, even though he knows he shouldn't. He describes her as a habit that he just can't break, no matter how hard he tries.
The chorus repeats the idea that she keeps calling him, and he keeps going back to her, even though he knows he shouldn't. He's trapped by her, and he can't resist her. The second verse talks about how he's tried to make a list of all the things he needs to do to quit her, but nothing works. Even when he thinks he's done with her, she always manages to lure him back in. He compares her to a last breath he can't burn and a lesson he can't learn, emphasizing the idea that she's become a part of him that he can't get rid of.
Overall, the song is about the addictive power of love and the struggle to break free from a toxic relationship. It depicts the singer as someone who knows he's addicted to this woman, but he can't help going back to her, no matter how much pain she causes him.
