Epilogue
Kevin Kiner & David G. Russell Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴

Our revels now our ended
These are actors, as I foretold you
We're all spirits, and are melted into air, into thin air

And like the baseless fabric of this vision
The cloud capped towers, the gorgeous palaces
The solemn temples, the great globe itself
Yeah, all which it inherit shall dissolve
And like this insubstantial pageant faded
Leave not a rack behind

We are such stuff as dreams are made of

And our little life is rounded
With a sleep

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Epilogue" by Kevin Kiner and David G. Russell are a beautiful reflection on the transient nature of life and the impermanence of human existence.

The first line, "Our revels now are ended," suggests that the joys and celebrations of life have come to a close. It represents the end of a chapter or phase, perhaps indicating a realization of the fleeting nature of human experiences.

The second line, "These are actors, as I foretold you," captures the idea that human beings are merely playing their roles in the grand play of life. We are all temporary participants, fulfilling our individual parts and eventually departing from the stage.

The following line, "We're all spirits, and are melted into air, into thin air," conveys the ethereal nature of human existence. It reminds us that, in the end, we are all made up of intangible and insubstantial elements. Like vapor dissipating into the atmosphere, we too will eventually fade away.

The next verse contains imagery of transient and illusory elements. The "baseless fabric of this vision" refers to the impermanence and fragility of the world we perceive. The "cloud-capped towers, the gorgeous palaces, the solemn temples, the great globe itself" allude to the seemingly solid and grand structures of life, which are ultimately ephemeral and subject to dissolution.

The final lines express the notion that everything we inherit or possess in this world will eventually dissolve and disappear. The phrase "Leave not a rack behind" suggests that once everything disintegrates, not even a trace or fragment will remain.

The chorus, "We are such stuff as dreams are made of," draws upon the idea that human existence is like a dream. It emphasizes the transient nature of our lives and the insubstantiality of our worldly ambitions and possessions.

Finally, the line "And our little life is rounded with a sleep" implies that life is ultimately completed with death. It refers to the notion that our journey in this world is temporary, akin to a fleeting dream that ultimately fades away when we peacefully fall asleep.

Overall, the lyrics of "Epilogue" offer a poignant reflection on the transient nature of human existence and the impermanence of all worldly pursuits. It invites listeners to contemplate the fleeting nature of life and encourages a deeper appreciation for the present moment.

I was disappointed too but not all good soundtracks have been released. But this is also pretty good. More like VERY good.

@bruno5564

Do you think some day they will release the soundtrack when the ghost is against the 2 tie defenders?, its so good

@CloneGunnerCommanderJedi

From Part 1? I don't know. I don't have any insight into the release of the music, so I can't say if it will or not. It's not a cue I've ever thought about or wished to have but watching the scene back it does have a nice bit of Hera's theme, so it could be nice to have. The only way I can ever see it getting released is if it's included on an official series 4 soundtrack which I have no idea if or when that'll happen. Sorry if this isn't the answer you were expecting.

@bruno5564

Clone Gunner Commander Jedi i was asking for your thoughts, or from what you know from experience, i know you dont have any idea, thanks for the answer

@CloneGunnerCommanderJedi

This is actually two cues combined: "Saw's Friend Arrives" (00:00-00:57) & "Saw is Turning it Into a Bomb" (00:57-End).

@kraith2210

This episode had a lot of good soundtracks and they took this

@dr.robotnick1888

Do you have the music when they fought the Death Troopers?

@CloneGunnerCommanderJedi

That's "Death Troopers On Board" by Reuven Herman, which hasn't been released.

@haydenfowle7576

Have some Rogue One vibes

@jeffreyaguilar8028

Saw is such a bro, he grabbed Ezra and Sabine for some help on a mission when he's just getting Ezra and Sabine to spend more time together.
