We sit while grandpa reads the book, its cover old and torn,
We gather together as a family, with reverence and nostalgia, as our grandfather shares a story from a cherished book, with its well-worn cover, about a significant event that took place many years ago when Jesus Christ was born.

A story that happened long ago when Jesus Christ was born.
This is a narrative from the distant past, recounting the extraordinary circumstances surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ.

It tells how Mary trusted God when the angel appeared and said,
The story reveals the unwavering faith of Mary, who placed her complete trust in God when an angel suddenly appeared before her and conveyed a message.

“You who are highly favored, please do not be afraid!
The angel reassured Mary, acknowledging her special favor in the eyes of God, and encouraged her not to be fearful of what was to come.

For you will be with child and your Son will be glorified.
Mary was informed that she would conceive a child and her Son would be revered and exalted by all.

He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High!”
This child, who will be of immense importance, will be known and recognized as the Son of the Almighty.

It’s Christmas day! My all-time favorite holiday.
Today is the day we all eagerly anticipate and hold dear, as it is my personal top choice among all festivities.

Angels sing! Born an infant King!
The celestial beings rejoice and express their joy through delightful melodies, as they announce the birth of a newborn King.

Peace on earth! The shepherds behold the Savior’s birth.
A state of tranquility spreads throughout the world, as humble shepherds witness the miraculous arrival of the one who will bring salvation.

Jesus has come so let’s all celebrate.
Jesus, the long-awaited Messiah, has arrived, and it is a cause for all of us to come together and revel in this momentous occasion.

Rejoice! It’s Christmas Day!
Let us express our elation and jubilation, for today is a day of great joy and merriment.

The inn was full, it was so late, and Mary was so tired.
The inn was completely occupied, and it was late into the night, causing Mary to be exhausted and in need of rest.

They laid down in a cattle stall to rest there for awhile.
Finding no other place, they settled themselves in a humble stable where livestock were kept, seeking temporary respite and comfort.

And there among the cows and sheep the little King was born.
In the midst of cows and sheep, the humble and seemingly inconspicuous birth of the divine King took place.

The stars sang out that love had come that blessed Christmas morn.
The celestial bodies adorned the skies with a harmonious symphony, signifying that love had arrived on that sacred Christmas morning.

Whoever would have dreamed as they looked at His face
No one could have ever imagined the magnitude of significance encompassed in the face of the infant they beheld.

That every hope of all mankind was lying in the hay?
Little did they know that the ultimate hope and redemption for all of humanity lay vulnerable and humble within the bed of hay.
