Kitty Hudson Lyrics

Guy's getting high smoking smack and weed
And you know, yeah you know
It just aint right
Spacers placed without a home
Boyfriend's better on methadone
And you know, yeah you know
You dont know what it's like everyday
Its like another fucking night when you're filled with spite yeah
You don't know what it's like everyday
Its like another pointless fight that you're never gonna win yeah
You dont know what it's like everyday
It's like another fucking eight and you cannot keep the pace yeah
You dont know what it's like everyday
Its like another fucking night when you're filled with spite
They dance hard running high on junk
Tramps getting laid with football drunks
And you know, yeah you know it just aint right
Case of wads and maccy d's
No way down when youre on your knees
And you know, yeah you know
You just cant fight
You dont know what it's like everyday
Its like another fucking night when you're filled with spite yeah

The song What it's like by Kitty Hudson brings to light the dark side of the society we live in, particularly the hidden underbelly of drugs and addiction. The lyrics begin by describing the pathetic state of Cheapskate Bob, who is hooked on crank and speed, and Guy, who is getting high on a cocktail of drugs including smack and weed. The singer goes on to highlight that it is not right and that we know it within us. The song also touches upon the plight of people forced to live without shelter, referred to as spacers placed without a home.
The singer goes on to describe the heartbreaking situation of someone who is struggling with addiction and is better off with methadone than with their partner. The chorus speaks of the immense struggle and pain that people face each day, fighting to keep their head above the water. The lyrics convey the message that unless we have been down the same road, we can never truly understand what it is like to fight these demons each day.
Towards the end, the singer talks about walking down that lonely road and not falling for the same traps. The song ends with a repetition of the chorus, emphasizing that we don't know what it's like unless we have lived through it.
