The truth
Kojak Lyrics

We are alone
There's weight on your mind
And I wanna know
The truth, if this is how you feel
Say it to me
If this was ever real
I want the truth from you
I want the truth from you
Give me the truth, even if it hurts me
I want the truth
So this is you
You're talking to me
You found a million ways to let me down
So I'm not hurt when you're not around
I was blind
But now I see
This is how you feel
Say it to me
If this was ever real
I want the truth from you
Give me the truth, even if it hurts me
I want the truth from you
Give me the truth, even if it hurts me
I know that this will break me
I know that this might make me cry
You gotta say what's on your mind,
On your mind
I know that this will hurt me
And break my heart and soul inside
I don't wanna live this lie
I want the truth from you
Give me the truth, even if it hurts me
I want the truth from you
Give me the truth, even if it hurts
I don't care no more, no
Just give me the truth, give me the truth
Cause I don't care no more
Give me the truth
Cause I don't care no more, no
Just give me the truth
Give me the truth
Give me the truth
Give me the truth
Give me the truth
Cause I don't care no more, no
In "The Truth," Kojak tackles the subject of honesty in a relationship. The song begins with a setting of two people being alone, with one of them carrying a weight on their mind. This sets the tone for what's to come, with Kojak wanting the truth about the other person's feelings, even if it hurts him. He confronts the other person with a plea to tell him the truth, even though he realizes it might hurt him. He doesn't want to live a lie anymore and is willing to face the pain of the truth.
Throughout the song, there is a sense of vulnerability and raw emotion. It's evident that Kojak deeply cares about the other person and their relationship, but he also acknowledges that not having the truth hurts more than the truth itself. The chorus repeats the plea for honesty, even if it means hurting him. The bridge adds a layer of desperation, with Kojak admitting that he knows the truth will break him and make him cry, but he still wants to know it.
In summary, "The Truth" is a powerful message about the importance of honesty in a relationship. It highlights the pain that comes with not knowing the truth, and the courage it takes to face it head-on.
