KOOQLA is proud to present – “FRUIT”
KOOQLA’s presence on the Russian live-stage is not a trivial phenomenon. There is a lot going on in their heads. What is important is that they know for sure how to transform these images into real music, lyrics, films and of course “stage performances”, a sequence of which will take place in Russia and Europe to support the new album.
The new album “FRUIT” is nothing other than the autumnal ripened FRUIT of creative imagination and FRUIT of the efforts of the entire team, which by the way will appear with a new line-up. Except for the solid duet of Artem Kharchenko (music, production, ideas) and the beautiful Muse, a doll with different-colored eyes (inspiration, sometimes violent), the “FRUIT” is brought to you by:
Nata Smirina - lyrics, vocal
Anton Chumacheko - bass guitar, keyboards
Konstantin Soldatov - drums
Stas Kononov - guitar
Artem Harchenko (R-Tem) - sound, production
It has to be said that each member of the KOOQLA project, which is increasingly drawn to analog sound, is a fruit of his own.
The presence of each member influenced the end result and the mood of the album. Each track - as is always the case for KOOQLA, is a result of an experiment. But if we talk about its genre - it is still the same mixture of easy-listening, down-tempo, funk and electronica.
Artem Kharchenko: “The album is more mature, more “transparent”. In terms of technical implementation - we are more into analog. There are more experiments with the use of live instruments and the methods for recording them. Many songs were written during the tours. The first track of the future album - Mute - was created last autumn...”
So it can be said that the “FRUIT” took its time to mature. It turned out solid, yet consisting of many elements.
Simple and tough on the outside, and unexpectedly complex inside.
Slightly fatal and deceptive.
Not luscious, not bitter - but sweetly tart.
Firm, yet fragile. Sparkling and fruity.
Like a pomegranate.
This exotic fruit will fall into the hands of listeners on the 5th of November straight from the official web page of the project.

Myself
Kooqla Lyrics

Drawn emotions on the face
We won't smile,
Staying calm and organized.
Sleeping quietly in our boxes
Working hardly in our boxes
Dreaming of a freedom
Dreaming of a feeling
You are a poor puppet
With textile stomach
With porcelain face
In the stupid lace dress
Your soft curls are all lying one to one
Your plastic eyes can see it all in the color of pale pink
There're too many strings holding us down
There're too many things taking our time.
We're ruining all we've created
We are crushing all we've created
We are blasting all we've created
We are crushing, blasting,
blighting, foiling all we've created.
This house of glass is made of us
This house of pain is made of hate
This love we share is made of care
This world of hope is on the dope
I'm scared of being me
Don't wanna know myself
Afraid of what I am
Unneeded item on the shelf.
Coming up, coming up, coming up
Coming undone.
Never more, never more
What is within I'll bring to surface
On my face there's secret faith
That someday I'll get to know my soul.
Save yourself from yourself
We've got a little time left
You are the veiled threat
Of everything that is alive
Your future isn't bright
You're not a puppeteer
You're empty puppet on the shelf.
Turned inside out.
This house of glass is made of us
This house of pain is made of hate
This love we share is made of care
This world of hope is on the dope
The rope is already about our neck
Something unknown is at our back
It might be blissfully cheerful or devastatingly sad
The lyrics of Kooqla's song, "Myself," paint a picture of a society that has become artificial and mechanical. The first verse describes a world where people have artificial bodies and emotions. This society is so focused on efficiency and productivity that people have become like puppets, living in boxes, and dreaming of freedom, love, and feeling. The chorus speaks of how this society is crushing and destroying everything that it has created. The second verse is focused on the individual, and how they are scared of being themselves and knowing who they truly are. The lyrics call on people to save themselves, as something unknown is lurking in the background.
Kooqla's song "Myself" provides commentary on the current state of society. People are becoming more and more detached from their emotions and their authentic selves. This detachment manifests itself in a focus on productivity and efficiency, sometimes at the expense of people's well-being. The song expresses a desire for people to break free from this artificial world and embrace their individuality.
