Silent spring, no birds sing
The death of nature can be heard in the silence where birds no longer sing

There is great sorrow and we all ultimately perish

Mother earth wept
The planet expressed sadness in response to the damage caused by humans

As they tore off her dress
As they stripped the earth of its natural beauty

Heart broken, humiliated
The planet was emotionally hurt and ashamed

In a state of distress
The planet was in a state of great suffering

They ripped out her hair
They destroyed nature's beauty by cutting down trees and plants

And they scratched at her skin
They scarred the planet's surface through pollution and waste

Drained her of her fluids
They depleted the earth's natural resources

Then committed their sin
Their sin was the destruction of the planet

They gouged out her eyes
They destroyed the planet's natural scenery

And cauterized her womb
They made the planet unable to produce new life

They sealed up her mouth
They made the planet silent

And made her a tomb
They have effectively killed the planet

Now she lies still
The planet is now motionless and incapable of healing itself

At the mercy of man
The planet is now entirely at human's disposal
