My parents divorced when I was fourteen years old. When times were the hardest from that my grandfather passed away (from a heart attack, while he was working alone doing tree work at the age of 71), during the middle of their divorce. He was my hero. My mom cheated on my dad with his best friend. WTF 😳 When times were the darkest blink got me through it all and gave me the strength to move forward. This band has not only been there for me, but millions of others. I remember laying in my bed listening to Cheshire Cat, Dude Ranch, Take Off Yours Pants, & Jacket, & Self Titled and thinking how much I hated my life, Blink made things much better and saved me during those tough times. I have grown as a person and have learned from the things that happened when I was younger and use them in my life today to be a better person and love my life

I'm 68 and the one thing no one ever told me about is if you live long enough you say goodbye to a lot of people who were dear to you. They start coming in droves when you pass a certain age. Even though the lyrics in this song are obviously deeply personal to the band members, they strike a universal chord, which is what great writing is all about. This song is a masterpiece, both lyrically and musically. They captured the melancholy and longing feeling of loss perfectly. Kudos!

I’ve been listening to his quite a lot, really hits hard. I lost my fiancé 11 months ago at age 40 to breast cancer. We’d been friends for about 17 years and finally made what was meant to be happen and started actually dating in very early 2021. We both hoped and thought she would have a lot more time but we lived each day like there was no tomorrow. Part of me died with her, but I’m glad we were able to love each other the way we deserved and that we made sure we both knew it very day. Even knowing the outcome I’d do it over every day without question. I was the luckiest guy to have her as my best friend, partner, lover, and fiancé.

Just lost my best friend who I loved liked a little brother to a fentanyl overdose. He had a tough life but lived one much fuller than most. His mom was murdered 8 years ago by a new boyfriend after a recent divorce with his father. He endured. He did what many of us couldn’t. He didn’t become cynical.
