I Don't Wanna Go
Lana Del Rey Lyrics

No small things,
Even ridin' 'round,
On tall dreams.
I don't wanna go.
He's a sweet baby,
In his soft leather,
In his blue jeans.
He got a way,
Ooh, baby,
He got a way,
Oh, baby,
He got a way,
With his words.
They be like,
Diamonds and pearls,
They be like,
Diamonds and pearls,
He gives to his,
Little favourite girls.
I don't wanna go, go home,
I don't wanna go, go home,
Baby, tonight, baby, tonight.
He don't like,
No spotlight,
Stands real quiet,
In the moon light.
He got a way,
Ooh, baby,
He got a way,
Oh, baby,
He got a way,
With his words.
They be like,
Diamonds and pearls,
They be like,
Diamonds and pearls,
He gives to his,
Little favourite girls.
I don't wanna go, go home,
I don't wanna go, go home,
Baby, tonight, baby, tonight.
Loving you isn't right,
Black leather moonlight,
I give in.
Loving you isn't right,
It's original sin.
I don't wanna go,
(Go), go, (go), home.
I don't wanna go,
(Go), go, (go), home.
Baby, tonight, baby, tonight.
I feel like I can,
Do anything, like,
I can do anything,
Like I can do anything,
That I like.
I feel like I can,
Do anything, like,
I can do anything,
Like I can do anything,
Tonight, baby, tonight.
Tonight.
The song is about a woman who is conflicted about her feelings for a man who seems to have a bad boy image but secretly has a soft side to him. The first verse describes the man as someone who doesn't like small things and has big dreams. The woman is torn because she finds him intriguing but she doesn't want to go any further with him. The chorus emphasizes this conflict as she repeats, "I don't wanna go."
In the second verse, we learn that the man is actually a "sweet baby" but he has a tough exterior. He has a way with words and knows how to treat his favorite girls like diamonds and pearls. This only adds to the woman's inner conflict as she doesn't want to leave him but at the same time, she feels like she's doing something wrong.
The bridge of the song adds to the complexity of their relationship as the woman references the "black leather moonlight," which could represent the passion and danger of their relationship. She knows that loving him isn't right and it's an "original sin," which could mean that their love is taboo or forbidden.
