A major part of Lava Diva is that the energy they radiate goes beyond the music. They combined their efforts with a community of musicians and friends who all helped to complete their first full length CD, "Lava Diva." Produced by Patrick Lydon, the CD also features contributions from several local musical talents. Former Geraldine Fibbers violinist Jessy Greene lends strings to "Mykel and Carli," Steve Kaye plays cello on "Vertigo," and former Nameless guitarist Buck Sanders adds his special touch to "The Passage" and "Heroine."
Lava Diva's second full length CD, "Creaks and Dogs," also pulled resources from local Los Angeles talent. Musical contributions to this album include Brad Gordon on accordian, Tanya Haden on cello, and Emmellda Beech and Robbie McDonald on additional vocals.

Lava Diva Lyrics

I′ll love you 'till the day I die
For all the piercing body parts
And all the holes left in my heart
And ulcered nerves which crave your touch
And fear you felt a bit too much
Life is hard and love is tough
Nothing I did ever seemed good enough
I prayed to him my soul to keep
Sweet enemy of mine
I′ll love you 'till the day I die
For all the words betrayed by trust
Sleepless nights and empty lust
And all these things I thought were mine
The numbing pain is so divine divine
Life is hard and love is tough
Nothing I did ever seemed good enough
I caught Jesus pissing on my sheets
I swear he touched me in my sleep
He said "Hey life is hard and love is tough
Nothing I did ever seemed good enough"
I caught Jesus talking in his sleep
I prayed to him my soul to keep
The lyrics to Lava Diva's song "Vertigo" are an emotional exploration of a complex relationship. The singer begins by addressing an old enemy, expressing their undying love despite the pain and damage caused by the other person. The sharp image of "piercing body parts" and "holes left in my heart" paints a vivid picture of the physical and emotional wounds inflicted. The singer seems addicted to the pain, describing "ulcered nerves which crave your touch" and how the "numbing pain is so divine." This creates a sense of masochism and a willingness to suffer for the other person.
The lyrics then take on a desperate tone, with the singer revealing their feelings of inadequacy and failure in love. They describe how "nothing I did ever seemed good enough" and even caught Jesus talking in his sleep. This may represent the singer's subconscious thoughts, suggesting their inability to escape the negative self-talk and self-doubt surrounding their relationship. The final line, "I prayed to him my soul to keep," reveals the singer's deep yearning for salvation from the pain and turmoil of their love.
