After You've Gone
Lenny Solomon Lyrics

How could you tell me that you're goin' away?
Don't say that we must part,
Don't break your baby's heart
You know I've loved you for these many years,
Loved you night and day,
Oh! honey baby, can't you see my tears?
After you've gone and left me cryin'
After you've gone there's no denyin'
You'll feel blue, you'll feel sad
You'll miss the dearest pal you've ever had
There'll come a time, now don't forget it
There'll come a time when you'll regret it
Someday, when you grow lonely
Your heart will break like mine and you'll want me only
After you've gone, after you've gone away
After you've gone and left me cryin'
After you've gone there's no denyin'
You're gonna feel blue, and you're gonna feel sad
You're gonna feel bad
And you'll miss, and you'll miss,
And you'll miss the bestest pal you ever had
There'll come a time, now don't forget it
There'll come a time when you'll regret it
But baby, think what you're doin'
I'm gonna haunt you so, I'm gonna taunt you so
It's gonna drive you to ruin
After you've gone, after you've gone away.
The song "After You’ve Gone" by Lenny Solomon talks about heartbreak and the pain that comes with being abandoned by a loved one. The lyrics suggest that the singer of the song is devastated by the departure of their loved one, who they have loved for many years. They plead with their partner to reconsider their decision and not leave them alone with a broken heart. The singer warns their love that after they have left, they will feel blue, sad, and miss the closest friend they have ever had.
The song implies that the partner who left will regret their decision someday, and when loneliness sets in, they will remember the happy times they shared with their partner. The singer assures their love that they will be there for them and that they will never give up on their partner. However, they warn their partner that they will also haunt and taunt them until they regret leaving. The song ends on a melancholic note, after stating that the lover will never return, and the singer is left with no other option than to pick up the pieces of their broken heart.

Living in a predominantly Mormon town and as a practicing Jew (Conservative ), I met an Orthodox gentleman and I was so happy to see him. I greeted him and he asked me “How many Jews in this town?” And I couldn’t help but say “There used to be a minyan around.”

@@matero4life2019 As a religious Masortim (I'm basically modern orthodox at this point) living in Dallas, Texas. It's not as much as a challenge due to the large Jewish community within my city! There's like 70,000 Jews in Dallas when there are 100,000 in Texas. Anyways, other than that. I hope you my friend are having a great Rosh Hashanah. I hope you, your family, and everyone you care for is doing perfectly fine in these harsh times.

When I wrote this I was in high school in Memphis, TN. I could have never envisioned such a warm, universal response. I have Lenny Solomon to thank for making it such a hit. I am also grateful to the Maccabeats for teaming up with Lenny and taking Minyan Man to the next level. Great job, guys!

Shalom from the "Big M" town! I love this song! I was born and raised in Memphis. I come from a long line of Sephardic Jews, who came to this country to Charleston, SC during Colonial Times, who lived and intermarried and were assimilated. But I have knew my roots, and have embraced them for decades.
Thank you for realizing and putting into song that the Jewish influence in America isn't always from the Ashkenazim, and even in the depths of the South there is a presence and heritage of the Tzadkim.
The Secretary of State of the Confederacy was a Jew...Judah Benjamin.
Might not fit in with today''s PC enviroment ...but there it is!
Shalom and La'shanah Tov!
