Having started her career at the tender age of 3, when she started to play the piano, Leona, the Canadian born, Jamaican blooded singer/songwriter/actress, has developed a tremendous love for performing. At the age of 6, Leona established herself with her family from Toronto Canada in Oestgeest, the Netherlands. Here she enrolled at the Conservatory of Music at the age of 17. Although she cut het education short after het 3rd year, it had become quite obvious that showbiz is where she wants to be. After been sent to Hollywood for two months by her record compagny at the time she performed as suppoting act for Dru Hill in 1999 performing with Dutch R&B group Sat-R-Day in Rotterdam's Ahoy. She was asked to accompany The Nits, Arling & Cameron and Junkie XL on their Tokyo tour in 2000. In 2001 she played the Nubian slave Aida in Joop van den Ende's hit musical AIDA. Which lead to more theatre shows such as o.a. Big Black & Beautiful and The Blues Brothers.
This past year she sang a.o. with the Dutch rock group Kane, sang the opening for
Lionel Richie's Symphonica in Rosso in the Gelredome, and is still touring Europe - as we speak - with Candy Dulfer. Earlier this year she did the Blue Note Club Tour in Nagoya & Tokyo with Candy Dulfer & Sheila E.

Ooh, ah, ooh ooh
What if I told you it was all meant to be?
Would you believe me, would you agree?
It's almost that feeling that we've met before
So tell me that you don't think I'm crazy
When I tell your love has come here and now
A moment like this
Some people wait a lifetime
For a moment like this
Some people search forever
For that one special kiss
I can't believe it's happening to me
Some people wait a lifetime
For a moment like this
Everything changes, but beauty remains
Something so tender I can't explain
Well I may be dreaming but 'til I could awake
Can we make the dream last forever?
And I'll cherish all the love that we share
A moment like this
Some people wait a lifetime
For a moment like this
Some people search forever
For that one special kiss
I can't believe it's happening to me
Some people wait a lifetime
For a moment like this
Could this be the greatest love of all?
I wanna know that you will catch me when I fall
So let me tell you this
Some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this
(Some people wait a lifetime)
A moment like this
Some people search forever
For that one special kiss
I can't believe it's happening to me
Some people wait a lifetime
For a moment like this (for a moment like this)
Some people wait a lifetime
For a moment like this
(Some people search forever)
For that one special kiss
I can't believe it's happening to me
Some people wait a lifetime
For a moment like this
For a moment like this
Leona Lewis's "A Moment Like This" illustrates the feeling of love at first sight with the lyrics portraying an enchanting tale of a sudden and intense love. The lyrics have a romantic and fictional feel to them, along with the tune that supports the same feeling. The first verse of the song captures the feeling of meeting someone who could be the one, and the second verse mixes up that feeling with a surreal experience of admiration that the singer may be dreaming of. The chorus is the highlight of the song, containing a powerful message of how sometimes people wait a lifetime to find love.
The singer compares love to an extraordinary moment that one may be waiting for all their life, and as the chorus repeats, the belief is solidified with lyrics such as "Some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this," indicating that finding true love is a rare and precious gift. The bridge of the song showcases the desire for the love to be eternal, using phrases such as "Can we make the dream last forever?" and "I'll cherish all the love that we share." The last line of the song "For a moment like this" summarizes the theme of the song, indicating that every moment shared with the love of your life is worth waiting a lifetime for.
