Alaska
Leonardo's Bride Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

To build a fire isn't always easy
In a storm but you can try
Just when I was thinking what's an eskimo to do
Something in the fog says I can find my way with you
The walls are white
The room feels bigger than is
On into the night
The wind will be whistling a tune
Just when I was thinking what's an eskimo to do
Something in the fog says I can find my way with you
Sun in my alaska
Sun in my alaska
Time to go outside
Time to read the writing on the wall
Facing up to this
I kiss the light
Colder than a polar bear this much is true

Just when I was thinking what's an eskimo to do
Something in the fog says I can find my way with you

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Alaska by Leonardo’s Bride talk about the challenges of surviving in a cold and harsh environment, particularly Alaska, and finding comfort in a relationship. The first verse starts with “To build a fire isn't always easy, in a storm but you can try”. This talks about the literal difficulty of trying to build a fire in the middle of a storm in Alaska, which can be a matter of life and death. This also has a metaphorical meaning, referring to the challenges of building a relationship and how one must try even in difficult times.

The chorus talks about finding hope and light in this challenging environment, with the sun shining in Alaska. It also talks about facing reality and reading “the writing on the wall”. This refers to accepting the harsh reality of the situation and moving forward.

The second verse talks about the singer being inside a room, where the walls are white and the room feels bigger than it is. This may be a metaphor about feeling confined or trapped in a relationship or in a challenging situation. The singer talks about the wind whistling a tune outside and needing direction, which is where the partner comes in. The last line of the song highlights the message of the song, “Something in the fog says I can find my way with you”, as the partner brings comfort and direction in difficult situations.

Overall, the song is a metaphorical portrayal of the challenges of life in Alaska and finding comfort and direction in a relationship.

The fact that there's like 8 other guys relaxing in the enclosure tells you how dangerous that bear is.

Phok Jiouh humans think they can control animals
But maybe this bear ist just clever ?
Because food for free
No enemy’s
Easy life

I think if he want to kill them he can do it every second and that’s what makes them dangerous

kieran pearson

@Black Rick Sanchez humans control animals

Kenny Santana

@kieran pearson you are absolutely wrong

Kenny Santana Some people possess the knowledge that’s needed to control an animal, that’s a fact. Raising it and for example teaching a bonobo words, means you’ve a big control over them

Btw, humans are animals as well and some of us are able to control other humans too

@Kenny Santana true humans control all animals ever been to a farm...

I doubt this is what a bear attack looks like. This is a friendly, calm, well-fed bear. He's just curious about why there's a person with a piece of chicken in a cage.
