Easy Love
Leslie Mendelson Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
To keep this thing together
We don't have to worry
Too much to get it right
We can take our time
We can take forever
'Cause what we have's an
The way you please me
Please me love
You can make me laugh
When things are getting heavy
You never seem to mind
When I bring my troubles 'round
You take me as I am
I'm always good and ready
'Cause what we have's an
Easy, easy love
The way you please me
Please me love
'Cause even when we fight
We spend more time making everything alright
'Cause what we have's an
Easy, easy love
The way you please me
Please me love
Leslie Mendelson's song "Easy Love" is an ode to the simplicity of love. The opening lines suggest that the couple doesn't have to put in much effort to maintain their relationship - they don't have to try too hard or worry too much. The song takes on a relaxing and laid-back vibe, as she sings that they can take their time and enjoy each other's company without feeling the pressure to get things right.
The chorus captures the essence of the song - "what we have's an easy, easy love." This line is sung with a lightness that emphasizes the weightless nature of their love. She sings about how her partner makes her laugh during heavy times and doesn't mind her bringing her troubles around. The couple seems to have a "take it as it comes" approach, which makes the relationship a happy and comfortable one.
Despite little bumps in the relationship, the couple is always seen to make everything alright. In comparison to other love songs that paint an idealized picture of everlasting love, Leslie Mendelson's Easy Love celebrates the simplicity of loving someone and the easiness of spending time together. It's an uptempo tune that showcases love in its simplest form and leaves the listener feeling lighthearted and at ease.
