Saved My Life
Lil' Louis & The World Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Hiding in your corner
Is the love we shared
Our hearts must have deceived us
And this loneliness redeems us once again
We could never find it
That our love would end
It's happening in stages
I'll cry about the changes
I know thats its hard for you to be alone this time
You never trusted your heart my dear
I think its gonna take a long time
Lost within the pages
Copy and then pasted in your arms again
Is it just me dreaming
I can't possibly believe it
I'll pretend that I am next to you
In these dreams
The lyrics of Lil' Louis & The World's song "Saved My Life" are about the hardship and pain that comes with the ending of a love story. The singer is lamenting the loss of a love that they both thought would last forever. However, they are now lonely and brokenhearted, seeking comfort in the memories of the love they once shared.
The singer feels that their hearts must have deceived them, leading them to believe that their love would last forever. They are also lamenting that no matter how hard they tried, they couldn't prevent the end from coming. The process of losing their love is a gradual one, happening in stages, and it makes them cry about the changes.
The singer then addresses their former lover, acknowledging how hard it must be for them to be alone. They remind them that they never trusted their heart and that it will probably take a long time for them to heal. The singer also reflects on their memories of the love they once shared, wondering if it's all just a dream.
In summary, "Saved My Life" is a deeply emotional song that captures the pain and sorrow of a love that has ended. It speaks to anyone who has ever experienced the heartbreak of lost love.

A mix of this tune was played at MJs in L.A. I loved it and danced to it but thought it was called "Music is My Life". I also loved "Club Lonely" but thought it was called "Lonely People". LOL, DUH! Now I am discovering these great tracks by Lil' Louie and lovin' em all over; they sound just as fresh and good now.
