In winter of 2000 K. began recording Precollection in Philadelphia. Three producers and three years later enter Guru of Soul, producer MIchael Musmanno, combining his affections for pop and esoteric rock to deliver all subsequent Lilys recordings.

This is actually a pretty recent EP as it came out in the early 00's. I have it on vinyl, and it's not at all hard to find. I think I payed 5 bucks for my copy.

So much to love about this. Subtle things that really work well. Like just closing the high-hat for the chorus. The watery tones of the little bridge. I wish I could find the lyrics. Maybe it's best not to know. This kind of music is so layered and it might be a disservice to deconstruct it anyway.

I wish someone like Rhino or whomever would start re-releasing the Lily's old e.p.s and albums. One of my biggest regrets music-wise was not buying their earlier work when it became available after they had a hit in the UK with 'nanny in manhattan'. Thank you for posting.

@DOTSmusik Unfortunately, I've been told from a few people that it was put on hold indefinitely because of the death of the producer. I remember seeing the trailer a month or so after it was put up, I was so psyched and that was a few years ago. We'll probably get a Lilys documentary when we get a new My Bloody Valentine album... In the year 2020.
