The soldiers were burning both inside-out, both figuratively and literally in the fires of hopelessness, pain, death, and destruction

What were they thinking as the bullets rang by
As the bullets and bombs exploded beside them, what were the soldiers thinking of their experience, loved ones, and the world they knew which had come to an end?

What courage did God give them when it came time to die?
In those final moments, what gave those soldiers the courage and the strength to face their deaths with valor and courage?
