Pull out the weapon in case they start flexin'
T. Touch he bust so stop guessin'

Overall Meaning

In the song "Sound the Alarm" by Sean Paul, Lodga Man, and Tony Toca, the lyrics depict a sense of pride and power, particularly through references to their nationalities and their ability to intimidate others. There are explicit references to the Jamaican gang wars, where people are shot and killed, as well as Tony Toca's personal life. Throughout the song, Sean Paul also mentions his friendship with Tony Toca and their shared experiences. He even claims that their collaboration will prove they are the "rudest" around. Besides, the lyrics speak to a sense of competition and the need to prove oneself, as well as the importance of family and unity.

The first verse mentions Tony from Capicu, who is likely a personal friend of Tony Toca's. The reference to Caribbean women calling their men "papi chu" portrays a sense of admiration and love. Sean Paul also asserts that no one can stop him or his associates, as they have "niggas out there dem shotta you" - essentially, they are too powerful to be taken down. The chorus features the phrase "Esa Loca," which is meant to represent a crazy Hispanic woman. It is unclear who the song is directed towards, but the repeated use of this phrase suggests that it is in reference to someone they know.

The second verse is primarily focused on Tony Toca, who goes by the nickname "Mr. Suavito." He discusses his pride in his Latino heritage, including his origins in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. He is also heavily armed and willing to use his weapon if necessary. Tony Toca also references T. Touch, a fellow rapper who is apparently skilled with a gun. Sean Paul makes an appearance as well, claiming that the two of them are ready to take on anyone who opposes them. He uses Jamaican slang and references the local obsession with marijuana. He also makes it clear that he is not to be underestimated.

What an absolutely brilliant story, a brilliant plot. Can't say enough about it and acted well, almost like a stage play on the set. It is remarkable. Better twists than Humphrey Bogart and Merry Anders is as beautiful, sexy and lovely as ever. Only criticism is it could have benefited from a higher budget spent on it but who cares? It's marvelous. Thanks for posting it.

@Fred Neecher Mr Friedrich Nietzsche... sheesh, these flyboys.

Silky Way

@Anaderol Back then the post office probably would!

Anaderol

@Fred Neecher It wasn't a bank safe box but a post office box - still I doubt the post office would forward the contents of the post office box without proof of i.d.

George Moore

Actually I found the plot was just a little bit silly on a couple of points, Cady told Sam Morgan that the girl Ellie had packed up, collected the "package" and left, he did that to encourage Sam to also leave so he could collect the "package" himself, now they came together in one car, when Sam went out to leave either one of two things would happen, the car would be gone so therefore he couldn't leave.....or the car would still be there so therefore Ellie must still be there, either way he was coming back in and Cady's plan would blow up in his face
Then when the Postman comes just after a fight between Cady and Morgan, Morgan tells Cady to get behind the desk and act like nothing is wrong, there was broken furniture everywhere, Cady was soaking wet after going out in the storm to retrieve the gun, was the Postman deaf, dumb and blind?

Fred Neecher

Maybe, but a phone call from a total stranger and the bank just sends him the contents of a PO Box? Some security that bank has!

Agree!

Rhonda Sanchez

I have always been drawn to these old black and white movies.

I never can get interested in others.

To each his own, but it's like knowing a secret.
