You're beside me, breathing so loud
The wall is empty and so flat
The world around me is too large, oh
And I know that I'm slow in the morning
As I fall into a hole without an end until
Silently, I look at you and all the mirrors
Oh, oh whoa oh-oh uh-oh
Oh, oh whoa oh-oh uh-oh
You're mine
Oh, oh whoa oh-oh uh-oh
Oh, oh whoa oh-oh uh-oh
You're mine
Sunday morning I wake up
You're beside me, breathing so loud
The wall is empty and so flat
The world around me is too large, oh
And I know that I'm slow in the morning
As I fall into a hole without an end until
Silently, I look at you and all the mirrors
Vanish from my mind
Oh, oh whoa oh-oh uh-oh
Oh, oh whoa oh-oh uh-oh
You're mine
Oh, oh whoa oh-oh uh-oh
Oh, oh whoa oh-oh uh-oh
You're mine
And I know that I'm slow in the morning
Silently, I look at you and all the mirrors
Vanish from my mind
And I know that I'm slow in the morning
Silently, I look at you and all the mirrors
Vanish from my mind
The song You're Mine by Lola Marsh is a beautiful, dreamy track about the peaceful moments of a Sunday morning spent with a loved one. The singer wakes up to the sound of her partner's breathing, feeling comforted and at ease. The world surrounding her feels too large, but in that moment, being with her partner makes everything feel alright. She acknowledges that she is slow in the morning, possibly alluding to the fact that she may be going through a depressive episode, but being with her partner helps her to forget about her worries and anxieties. As she gazes at her partner, all the mirrors around her vanish - a metaphor for how being with her partner helps her to not be so focused on her own flaws and instead, appreciate the beauty in her partner and in the moment they are sharing.
The chorus of the song consists of the repetition of the phrase "You're mine", which could be interpreted in different ways. On one hand, it could be seen as the singer having a possessive attitude towards her partner, but on the other hand, it could be a declaration of love and appreciation for the person she is with. Overall, the song seems to celebrate the feeling of safety and comfort that can be found in a romantic relationship, and how being with someone you love can make everything else disappear.
