Born into a tightly knit, small town community in Pennsylvania, he is the son of a funeral director and the much loved black sheep of a large family. A self-proclaimed "Art Kid From the Country", Lucas began his creative journey in musical theater productions, choirs, and garage bands before moving first to Pittsburgh, then to Boston to attend the Berklee College of Music (â06 Songwriting graduate), to Philadelphia for 3 years, then to New York City. Eventually "Music City" beckoned, landing him in Nashville, TN, where he currently resides when not on the road. His songs are colorful sonic tapestries, contrasting the mundane and often comic reality of life in rural America against the cultural diversity and fast pace of the cities he's called home.
Since releasing the âArt Kids From the Countryâ EP 6 years ago, Lucas has played over 500 shows, sold over 5,000 albums and digital downloads completely independently, plus created âThe Pixelated Pathâ (2008) and "Evolution/Mystery" (2010), his most ambitious work to date. Both EP's, produced with Los Angeles based friend and producer David Bowick, venture into new sonic territory, combining beats generated from samples of office equipment, classic synthesizer sounds, beatboxing, and even a desk chair rolling across the floor, with organic instrumentation that included fretless guitar, Irish tin whistles, nyckelharpa (Swedish keyed fiddle), and toy pianos.
Currently, Lucas is on the road, sharing his high octane, electro-acoustic show with fans across the country. As a songwriter, a storyteller, a producer, and a performer Lucas Carpenter offers a new vision for the modern pop artist.

But all the inkwells dried up
All the music was lost
And then I was alone
I forgot what creation stemmed from
And I got used to the everyday
But someone comes out and steals my LOVE again
Her
'Cause I don't know hat I'm trying to say
I can escape all the things that were
Except misused words, time and her
I'll still be here waiting for her when the world leaves her behind
How should they know what we have
They don't see what we've got
But, oh how they are shiny and new
And one day sparkle will fade
And time will march on with its syncopated step
She'll never lost what she's got
Her
Progression is the key
But we look around to see
That nothing much has changed
We've just reached the 13th grade
She's got her life
And I've got mine
Watch them collide,collide
Kaleidoscope of my mind
In Lucas Carpenter's song "Her," the singer has a dream where he sacrifices love for the sake of art. In doing so, however, he realizes that all creativity and inspiration are lost when love is absent. After being alone for some time, the singer meets someone new who steals his love - this is the "her" referred to in the song. The singer struggles to express his emotions to her and worries that he only has "misused words, time, and her" left. Despite the uncertainty and fear, the singer remains committed to waiting for "her" and cherishing the love they share.
The song touches on the idea that love is a major source of inspiration and creativity in life. Love is often what gives individuals the motivation to create and express themselves. Without love, there may be a lack of inspiration and direction. Additionally, the song argues that love is not always easy, and it can be challenging to express or communicate our feelings to others. Despite these difficulties, however, love is always worth it, and we should hold onto it in whatever way we can.
Overall, "Her" is a song that explores the complex emotions and challenges of relationships. It speaks to the importance of love in our lives and how it can drive us towards creativity and self-expression.
