However, vocalist Tanya Kemppainen quit the band in 2002, leaving Lullacry without its main element. Many female singers applied for the post, but the then unknown Tanja Lainio ultimately stepped in and brought her lightly bitter contralto vocals along with her. Their following release was entitled Crucify My Heart. The single Don't Touch The Flame taken from this album included a cover of the Nine Inch Nails track ''Head Like A Hole''.
Prior to the record of a new full album the EP 'Fire Within' was released including alternative versions of two of the bands classics tracks, a W.A.S.P. cover, and two new tracks.
In June 2005 the band announced the completion of their fourth album entitled 'Vol. 4' which was released in September of that year and was proceeded by the single ''Stranger In You'' released in July and including a Kiss cover. After a long hiatus, Lullacry released their fifth studio album 'Where Angels Fear' in 2012.
They announced a split in 2014 following three farewell shows.

I Am
Lullacry Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Are like poison
This vicious circle
Just goes on and on
All you told me
Was pack of lies
You cannot hide it
Say no more, what have you done
Give me the strength to understand
Say no more, what have we done
I needed you
Now it's over too
Yeah I know I am better off without you
And now you play with my mind
What can I do
Yeah I know I am better off without you
Need a way out
Wounds are too deep
You're not the one
Who can right now heal me
The lyrics of Lullacry's song, "I Am," tell a story of heartbreak, betrayal, and the process of moving on. The lines "These empty words are like poison, this vicious circle just goes on and on" introduce the idea that the relationship has become toxic and that the same patterns keep repeating themselves. The next lines "All you told me was a pack of lies, you cannot hide it, I can see it from your eyes" highlight the betrayal felt by the singer. The person they trusted has deceived them and can no longer hide the truth.
The chorus then asks for strength to understand what has happened and what they've done. It's clear that the relationship has ended ("I needed you, now it's over too") but the pain lingers on. The line "And now you play with my mind, what can I do?" suggests that the ex is still holding onto the singer's emotions and causing further turmoil. The singer knows they're better off without the ex but the wounds are still too fresh. The final line "You're not the one who can right now heal me" implies that the singer needs time and space to heal on their own.
Overall, the lyrics of "I Am" suggest that while the pain of a break-up is difficult, it's a necessary step in moving on and healing. The singer acknowledges that they're better off without their ex but understands that the healing process won't happen overnight.
