With the release of Rumour, Lunik started as a trip-hop group and evolved (some say de-volved) to a more melodic pop outfit in the early 2000s.
Jaël became known in wider audiences after her appearance on Delerium's single "After All", taken from their 2003 album "Chimera" as well as Mich Gerber's single Your Remain in 2004.
In 2013, it was announced that the band would split up after releasing the album Encore, featuring some unreleased tracks and live versions. Jaël stated in an interview that the reason of the split was that "everything had been said (what the members wanted to express together)" and the band members "didn't have fun anymore" playing together.

Lunik Lyrics

You want me to be part of a good majority
I can't never ever be your disciple
You want me to be a fellow-believer
You want me to be submissive, to be full of loyalty
I can't never ever agree
Mastermind set me free
With mastermind don't want to be
In mental custody
You want me to be a collaborator
You want me to be thoughtless like a trimmer has to be
But I'll never ever be your plaything
You want me to be a collaborator
To fit into the rules of a good society
But I'm sure I'll find a way to leave
These lyrics from Lunik's song Mastermind explore the theme of individuality and the struggle to resist conformity. The chorus of the song asserts the idea that the singer cannot be controlled by a "mastermind" or made to conform to society's expectations. The verses describe the pressure to conform and the expectations placed upon individuals to be submissive and loyal. In the second verse, the idea of being a "collaborator" is introduced, suggesting that society expects individuals to be complicit in upholding its norms and values.
Throughout the song, the singer emphasizes their determination to resist these expectations, even if it means going against the majority. The use of the phrase "set me free" in the chorus suggests that by resisting conformity, the individual is able to find freedom and autonomy. Overall, Mastermind is a powerful and catchy anthem that encourages listeners to embrace their individuality and push back against societal pressure.
