With the release of Rumour, Lunik started as a trip-hop group and evolved (some say de-volved) to a more melodic pop outfit in the early 2000s.
Jaël became known in wider audiences after her appearance on Delerium's single "After All", taken from their 2003 album "Chimera" as well as Mich Gerber's single Your Remain in 2004.
In 2013, it was announced that the band would split up after releasing the album Encore, featuring some unreleased tracks and live versions. Jaël stated in an interview that the reason of the split was that "everything had been said (what the members wanted to express together)" and the band members "didn't have fun anymore" playing together.

Throw this number far away
I thought
That I'd found my part
I was wrong- my mistake
Now I'm trying to fill the void
I'm broken: always the same thing when other people are around:
Like an unintended rescue the shadow-mask clings to my neck
I'd just like to be who I am
Where should I start to seek?
In my reflection I learn
There's something behind
Tug-of-war
Between me, myself and I
I could scream
But I laugh
I could breath but I lie
I could win but I loose
The dirty, greasy costume on my skin, I cannot push it away
Calm down, calm down, inhale the screaming silence
The lyrics to Lunik's song Sentimento speak to a struggle with identity and feeling trapped by societal expectations. The first stanza sets the scene for the feelings of disappointment and longing for something more. The singer thought they had found their place, but ultimately realizes that they were wrong. They are left trying to fill a void in their life, feeling broken and unable to be themselves when around others. They describe the feeling of being suffocated by a "shadow-mask" that clings to their neck and holds them back. Despite their best efforts, they are unable to shake off the feeling of being trapped and controlled by someone or something else.
The next stanza speaks to the internal struggle between who the singer truly is and who they feel they need to be in order to fit in with others. They describe feeling like there is something more to them than what they present to the world, but they are unsure of where to begin to find it. They are engaged in a "tug-of-war" between their true self and the persona they have created to fit in. The final lines of the stanza convey a sense of frustration and resignation- the singer feels like they are unable to break free from the dirty, greasy costume that they wear, and are left trying to calm themselves in the midst of chaos.
Overall, the lyrics of Sentimento are emotive and speak to feelings of being trapped, suffocated, and frustrated. The struggle with identity and societal expectations is a universal theme that many people can relate to.
