1. A Rock band from Toccoa, Georgia.
--Atlanta's Luxury consists of vocalist Lee Bozeman, guitarist Jamie Bozeman, bassist Chris Foley and drummer Glenn Black. The group originated from the Bozemans' early '90s band the Shroud, who gained a regional following for their passionate, spiritually-minded rock. In 1995, the group changed their name to Luxury and released their debut Amazing & Thank You, and then encountered a major setback: on the way home from performing at that year's Cornerstone Festival, the band's van lost control on the highway. The injuries from the accident took the group over 6 months to recover from. Luxury persevered, however, and released their second album Latest & Greatest in 1997 on Tooth & Nail. Luxury followed two years later on Spring Arbor Records. ~ Heather Phares

I just can't seem to sleep these days
I hear voices call in my mind
But I can't hear what they say
Now there is a sorrow
That always comes my way
But you never really know
You never really know
I know it's never gonna let me
That's just the way it tends to be these days
I try, it's never gonna let me
I wish that it wouldn't come and get me
That's just the way it tends to be these days
Now there is no simple way
To change the things that I have been
You cannot just cage a bird
And expect it to fly free
That always comes my way
But you never really know
You never really know
Watch out. Someone's gonna get me
I know it's never gonna let me
That's just the way it tends to be these days
I try, it's never gonna let me
I wish that it wouldn't come and get me
That's just the way it tends to be these days
Now it's not easy
With the things you know
To try to please me
But you never really know
You never really know
Watch out. Someone's gonna get me
I know it's never gonna let me
That's just the way it tends to be these days
I try, it's never gonna let me
I wish that it wouldn't come and get me
That's just the way it tends to be these days
These days, these days
These days, these days
The opening lines of "These Days" by Luxury paints the picture of a restless individual who is unable to fall asleep despite their efforts. The individual constantly hears voices calling out to them but they are unable to decipher the meaning behind the voices. There is an underlying feeling of sorrow that accompanies the individual and it seems to follow them wherever they go. The lyrics suggest that this is something that they have become accustomed to, however, there is an element of fear present, as indicated by the lines “watch out, someone’s gonna get me”.
The lyrics suggest that there is no easy way to change the situation that the individual finds themselves in. The individual is described as a bird that cannot be caged and expected to fly free. The implication is that the individual is trapped in a situation that they are unable to escape from.
The chorus of the song creates a sense of helplessness as the individual acknowledges that the situation is unlikely to change. The repetition of the phrase “that’s just the way it tends to be these days” suggests a resignation to their fate.
Overall, the lyrics of "These Days" by Luxury convey a sense of hopelessness and despair. The individual seems to be trapped in a situation that they are unable to escape from and this is unlikely to change. The lyrics are powerful and emotional, and they explore the themes of helplessness, fear, and resignation.
