A trio of Lowenthal, Draganic and Zwingenberger had been playing together for several years when they found Müller.
Müller, born in Thüringen to an amateur musician from Tanzania and a German mother, had begun to sing jazz only a year before the trio was formed. Now she takes the stage with her new accompanists and fascinates audiences with her own unique sound.
By the end of 2004 Müller had given approximately 300 concerts with her trio, the majority of those in Germany and three in the United States, where she enjoyed great successes in New York and Boston and was likewise acclaimed by the American press. She also appeared in France, Austria, Switzerland, Poland and the Czech Republic and is set to perform in other countries in 2005.
You'd Be So Nice to Come Home To
Lyambiko Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You'd be so nice by the fire
While the breeze on high sang a lullaby
You'd be all that I could desire
Under stars chilled by the winter
Under an August moon burning above
You'd be so nice, you'd be paradise
Under stars chilled by the winter
Under an August moon burning above
You'd be so nice, you'd be paradise
To come home to and love
These lyrics are from Lyambiko’s song, “You'd Be So Nice to Come Home to,” originally from the musical, “Something to Shout About,” written by Cole Porter in 1937. The singer is expressing their deep longing for someone they love to come home to. They mention how nice it would be to come home to this particular person, and how they would be found sitting by the fire, basking in the warmth and comfort of their partner’s love. The singer mentions that everything around them, even the breeze, would be singing this person’s praises, as they are all that they could desire.
The second stanza reinforces the sense of longing, as the singer imagines their ideal scenario, whether it be under a blanket of stars in the dead of winter, or on a warm summer night under the light of a full moon. Regardless of time or season, the person they’re addressing in the song is so desirable and perfect that they create their own sort of paradise. The lyrics have a romantic allure and convey the deep desire for intimacy and companionship.
