Pump Up the Jam
M.C. Sar Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Yo all you homeboys out in 'Bronx, this one's for you!
Pump up the volume
Pump up the volume
Pump up the volume
Get down

Brothers and sisters!
Pump up the volume
We gonna get ya!

Brothers and sisters!
Pump up the volume
Pump that beat

Brothers and sisters!
Pump up the volume
We gonna get ya!

Brothers and sisters!
Pump up the volume
Pump-pump it up!

Yeah yeah!
Yeah yeah!

Boogie down-boog-boog-boogie down!
Boog-boog-boog-boogie down!

Ah here we go-come on!
Do it!
Do it!
Do it!
Ow!

Pump up the volume
Pump up the volume
Pump up the volume
Dance! dance!

Rythmatic, systematic world control!
Magnetic, genetic, to match your soul! (x4)

Put the needle on the record!
Put the needle on the record!
Put the needle on the record!
Put the needle on the record!
Put the needle on the record
When the drumbeats go like this

Pump up the volume
Pump up the volume

Pump up the volume
Dance! dance!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of M.C. Sar's "Pump Up The Jam" can be interpreted as an anthem for unity, liberation, and the power of music. The song starts with a call-out to the "homeboys out in Bronx," indicating a sense of belonging and solidarity with the listeners. The repetition of "pump up the volume" serves as a rallying cry, urging everyone to raise the energy and intensity.

The phrase "get down" is a command to let loose and engage in the music physically and emotionally. This can be seen as an invitation to forget about one's worries and just enjoy the moment. The repetition of "brothers and sisters" emphasizes the inclusiveness and communal spirit of the song, as it aims to bring people together through music.

As the song progresses, the lyrics continually reinforce the message of pumping up the volume and the beat. The repetition of these phrases encourages the listeners to increase their energy and enthusiasm. These energetic beats and catchy rhythms are designed to inspire dancing and movement.

The following section, "Yeah yeah! Boogie down-boog-boog-boogie down!" serves as a reinforcement of the call to action. It heightens the excitement and encourages people to let loose and express themselves through dancing. The repetition of these phrases adds to the infectious and energetic nature of the song.

The bridge section, "Rhythmatic, systematic world control! Magnetic, genetic, to match your soul!" can be interpreted as a commentary on the power of music. It suggests that music has the ability to transcend boundaries and unify people across the world. The combination of rhythmic and magnetic forces resonating with one's soul implies that music has the ability to connect with individuals on a deeply personal and emotional level.

The closing lines, "Put the needle on the record! When the drumbeats go like this, pump up the volume, dance! dance!" emphasize the importance of the beats and the volume in creating a liberating and joyful experience. The deployment of the needle on the record symbolizes the start of a musical journey that propels everyone to dance and let go of inhibitions.

Overall, "Pump Up The Jam" is an uplifting song that encourages unity, liberation, and celebration through music. It inspires individuals to come together, let loose, and express themselves through dancing. The repetitive and infectious lyrics serve to reinforce the message while creating an irresistible energetic atmosphere.

O´Jay e QuickMix agitavam festinhas. O MC.

O The Real McCoy fez a mesma coisa com Another Night.

@wellersonwellersonmario7774

@DragonService

Eu tenho ate hoje em vinil o split com o MC S.A.R. and the Real McCoy e o Rap IV Rap para eu poder ouvir todos os dias. Por isso mesmo, eu prefiro a versao original do MC S.A.R. and the Real McCoy do que a versao gravada pelo Technotronic.

@joaoclaudio7941
