Good point, it has always struck me that the feeling of the radical is very crisp, so I would definitely use a more muted or dead string. This is definitely a very good topic to discuss since there are many people who do not believe or consider that this can transform the feel of a racket for better or worse, so it is very important to experiment with different types of strings until you find the right one. complement better with your racket. Greetings

I use the new radical mp with rpm 17 54 lbs, I really enjoy it as it forces good form. it is difficult but extremely rewarding in my opinion.

In my RadMP 2023 I've settled on Silver 7 Tour 17 in the mains and Velocity MLT 17 crosses, both at 54lbs. I'm thinking about lowering the tension on the mains a couple pounds to get a bit more free power and pocketing. After playing with a bunch of string combos, I have had to accept that getting a lot of free spin just isn't gonna happen in this frame. So, going with a more lively, powerful string setup got me where I wanted to go. I can focus on shape and angles with my mechanics rather than getting it free from the string bed. But you're right, it is not easy to get "bite" on the ball. I use a Wilson Pro overgrip (~5g) and added 1g at 10, 12, and 2 o'clock each. Static weight and SW I believe are right around 328, ~5HL.

yeah i will probably be testing S7T this week at 45lbs to see if that increases bite and pocketing

I recently switched to the Radical and currently settled on NRG2 in the mains and ALU Power in the crosses. Works the other way around too but I found notching happened way too fast for my liking. Still exploring but the frame gives me control and the strings offer power.
TennCom
interesting that you are getting better longevity with nylon mains, good data point

I'm using AK pro cx main, max power cross, and also have better playability duration with the SG as a main

@TennCom Tecnifibre Ice Code White 18G (1.20mm) at 53lbs. You are welcome

Try a thin edged twisted string in your main like msv hepta twist 1.15. It will increase your launch angle and works great in the radical mp auxetic. In the cross i used an even thinner msv focus hex 1.10.
