The lyrics of MBLAQ's song "YOORYEONG" express longing for a past lover who has left and the pain that is experienced after a break-up. The singer is caught between the desire to move on and the memories of the relationship that keep resurfacing. The lyrics suggest that the singer is still in love and wants to hold on to the relationship despite the separation, as they reminisce about the times they shared and wish to continue building happy memories with their former partner. The lyrics' tone is reflective, and the singer's emotions are expressed through a slow ballad that is both soothing and haunting.
The opening lines set the tone with a reflection on the possibility of meeting the ex-lover unexpectedly and the fear of causing them pain. The lyrics express a longing for the partnership they shared, with the singer expressing hope that the memories they shared will become happy memories. The chorus repeats the sentiment that the two shared love and pain, and the singer still longs for the love they shared. The bridge speaks to the memories that keep haunting the singer, who wishes they could spend more time with their former partner.
