Currently consisting of Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon (DJ H.ONE), JOOHONEY and I.M. Originally a seven-member group, WONHO left in October 2019.

Before their debut, the boys participated in the survival show NO.MERCY. The group name has the double meaning of monsters conquering the K-pop scene and my star (MON means 'my' in French). X is an unknown existence.

They officially debuted through M! Countdown on May 14, 2015 with " 무단침입 (Trespass)". Their first music show trophy came with "DRAMARAMA" through The Show on November 14, 2017, while the album, THE CODE, peaked at #1 on the Gaon Album Chart.

They released their first Japanese-only single "SPOTLIGHT" on January 10, 2018.

In February 2020, Monsta X's first English album All About Luv ranked number five on the US Billboard 200 and number seven on the US Rolling Stone Top 200.

Since debut, Monsta X has been known for their aggressive style, combining elements of hip hop, EDM and pop. This aggressive style with "tracks centred around loud, clattering, electronic instrumentals, vicious rap verses, and striking vocals" has been influential across the fourth generation of K-pop.

On December 10, Monsta X released their second English-language album The Dreaming, which includes the previously released single "One Day" and nine new tracks. They also released a documentary/concert film Monsta X: The Dreaming on December 8 in South Korea and on December 9 and 11 in seventy countries around the world. The film contains exclusive interviews with the members, clips from their US activities, special stages, and the group's six-year journey. The group will be joining iHeartRadio's Jingle Ball Tour and is set to perform at Philadelphia on December 13, Washington D.C. on December 14, Atlanta on December 16, and Miami on December 19.

Overall Meaning

Even if it's a 3 minute MV, it explains a lot, it's about suicide, homophobia, and LGBTQ. Minhyuk and Hyungwon were in a relationship. you can see Hyungwon in the bathtub, he drowned himself because his parents couldn't accept him being gay which made him severely depressed. But They made a potion where you can bring back the dead or heal them. Which is why you can see hyungwon hand move when him and minhyuk were holding hands in the bathtub.

I’m still not over the fact that they said “gay rights” with their whole chests. I played All In to death, so it’s not really my favorite MX song anymore, but the storyline is still one of my all time favorites and I don’t think that’ll ever change. There’s just so much good stuff about this storyline. Here's my theory about the bathtub scene:
I think that blue potion is like drug and can also heal which is extremely rare and everyone in the Clan is addicted to it. Hyungwon drowned himself. The potion means nothing to Minhyuk now so he poured it into the bathtub then also killed himself.

Can you explain what is happening in this MV please? I understand some parts, but other parts I don't get.
Shownu robbed a place with Jooheon in order to keep his parent alive, but his parent died by the time he got the money?
Hyungwon's dad is abusive and he commits suicide because of it? What is Minhyuk doing? Did Hyungwon's dad burn down the place that Monsta X would meet up and then got arrested? What are the rest of the members doing?

The theory behind this MV:
Notice the white flags in the video, the white flags symbolize surrendering. On the white flags, there are "X's" on the flags, which means they're not going to surrender. Part one: The Blue Flowers. Notice in the beginning and throughout the whole MV, that a blue flower appears multiple times. The blue flower, which is called a larkspur (or delphinium) flower, is a healing flower. During one scene, you will see the members creating a potion from the larkspur flower. Notice again that the members act a little high while making the potion. Larkspurs are toxic to humans if indigested. When Shownu comes back to the hospital bed he sets the flower on the clothes on the bed. Larkspur is a symbol to honor the heroic dead. Part two: Hyungwon and Minhyuk. While the members were in the alley, men with a book with a cross on it. The men, specifically, look at hyungwon. In this music video, Minhyuk and Hyungwon are gay and have deep affection toward each other. When hyungwon gets slapped by one of the men, the camera is pointed directly toward Minhyuk; none of the other members' reaction was put on camera. When Minhyuk goes to see Hyungwon, he has on a white mask. Hyungwon tries to push Minhyuk's hand away so he wouldn't be able to take off the mask. When Minhyuk takes off the mask, Hyungwon holds his head down in shame and embarrassment. After Minhyuk saw Hyungwon, he left the room. A few seconds after that happened, you can see Minhyuk with Wonho and Changkyun. Minhyuk is carrying gasoline in his hands to get revenge on the man that hurt Hyungwon, that's why the building was on fire. Part three: Kihyun. Even though he wasn't shown throughout the whole MV, he did something. In the MV toward the end, you can see that he's limping. He got injured during the MV, which we don't really know for sure. If you notice toward the end of the MV, Kihyun stops limping because of the potion that they made with the larkspur. Part four: Shownu. While Shownu was in the hospital with the man, he was looking at the white mask. He was thinking of how he got beaten up by Changkyun, Wonho, and Minhyuk. Jooheon comes to Shownu with a black bag. Notice that Shownu grabs something out of the bag, but isn't abe to be seen; it was a gun. The only reason why Jooheon and Shownu robbed the store, was so that Shownu could pay the man's hospital bills. Once Shownu gets back to the hospital, he notices that the man is gone, so he burns the money; now seeing that it was useless. Part five: Individual shots. If you go back to see their individual shots, you can see that Changkyun, Wonho and Kihyun's eyes are open and that the image is clear, which means that they committed a crime. In Jooheon and Shownu's shot, it's kind of blurry, which means they are guilty of what they did. In Hyungwon and Minhyuk's shots, their eyes are closed, which means that the potion has taken over their bodies and they cannot feel any senses, but they're healed. Also, when the members are running, you can see the horror in Wonho's and Minhyuk's faces, what they were running from was inhuman; it was the blob. LAST PART: The purple blob. At the end of the MV, the members come up to see a big, purple blob in the sky. If you notice the members’ reaction to the blob, all of the members are kind of confused by the blob. Kihyun is smiling at the creation that was made and is happy about it. This took a while to type, so I hope this is the right theory about the mv 😁.
