Frozen
Madonna & Sickick Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

How can life be what you want it to be?
You're frozen
When your heart's not open

Mmm, if I could melt your heart
Mmm, we'd never be apart
Mmm, if I could melt your heart
Mmm, we'd never be apart

Mmm, if I could melt your heart (mmm)
Mmm, we'd never be apart
Mmm, give yourself to me (ooh, ooh)
Mmm, we'd never be apart (Sickick)

Mmm, if I could melt your heart
Mmm, we'd never be apart

Mmm, if I could melt your heart
Mmm, we'd never be apart (Sickick)

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Madonna's song "Frozen" seem to be about someone who is feeling stuck and unable to fully experience life or open up to love because their heart is frozen. The opening lines ask how life can possibly be what you want it to be if you are frozen and closed off emotionally. The repetition of the phrase "you're frozen" emphasizes this feeling of being stuck and unable to move forward.

The rest of the lyrics seem to be an invitation to the person with the frozen heart to open up and let love in. The lines "if I could melt your heart, we'd never be apart" suggest that the singer is willing to do whatever it takes to help this person let go of their emotional barriers and connect on a deep level. The repetition of the phrase "mmm, if I could melt your heart" reinforces this message of offering love and connection.

Overall, the lyrics to "Frozen" convey a sense of frustration with emotional barriers and a desire to break through them and connect with others on a deeper level. The repeated use of the word "mmm" adds a sensual and intimate tone to the song, further emphasizing the message of emotional connection.

@Sasha Bertold yes, I know all this, but to suggest that they “trained” her?! Would anyone say or suggest that Madonna “trained” Mike or Prince?! Hell no. Of course not.

Madonna attended a performing arts college and when she moved with a boyfriend to NYC in the 70s, she got in with the right crowd, worked at it, met the right people, and became the icon she remains.

Prince wasn’t fond of Madonna. Lenny Kravitz and Ingrid Chavez had written an AMAZING song for the latter (Chavez), as she was a new artist signed to and being produced by Prince. Somehow, Madonna got the song (IMO Madonna stole the song) and it happens to be my favorite Madonna song, tied with “Bad Girl.” The song is “Justify My Love.” After that, Prince had beef with Madonna. You can find the video here on YouTube showing Prince at some countdown music show on VH1 and a Madonna music video/song (“Take a Bow”) is playing and Prince rolls his eyes and asks “Is this going to be much longer?” 🤣🤣🤣

Madonna said Prince smelled like straight Lavender. Just a ton of lavender.

Michael thought Prince was incredible and he also liked roasting Prince or laughing at how petty and competitive Prince could be with him. I feel Prince and Michael had a mutual respect, but not ever a friendship.

Have you ever stopped to think that at the age of 60 she can still understand the music industry and release hits? Incredible!
