His first band Athenaeum, was signed to Atlantic Records towards the end of the 90's. The late Billboard Magazine editor Timothy White called Athenaeum's album "Radiance", one of the best albums of 1998 in his "Music To My Ears" column. "Radiance" went on to sell over 100,000 copies and produced the top ten Modern Rock hit "What I Didn't Know". Many years later Mark Kano has reemerged as a solo artist with another stellar collection of songs appearing on his debut solo record "Walking On Broadway".
