Hold On
Martin George Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Oh yeah I tell you somethin'
I think you'll understand
When I say that somethin'
I want to hold your hand
I want to hold your hand
I want to hold your hand

Oh please say to me
You'll let me be your man
And please say to me
You'll let me hold your hand
Now, let me hold your hand
I want to hold your hand

And when I touch you
I feel happy inside
It's such a feelin' that my love
I can't hide
I can't hide
I can't hide

Yeah, you got that somethin'
I think you'll understand
When I say that somethin'
I want to hold your hand
I want to hold your hand
I want to hold your hand

And when I touch you
I feel happy inside
It's such a feelin' that my love
I can't hide
I can't hide
I can't hide

Yeah, you got that somethin'
I think you'll understand
When I feel that somethin'
I want to hold your hand
I want to hold your hand

I want to hold your hand
I want to hold your hand

It's most difficult to imagine The Beatles without having George Martin as their producer.

DnB and Psy Production

They would have sounded like this:

(Search: Harry and Paul - The Beatles - Bigger Than Cheeses).

We are listening to the other Beatle. This guy is also genius musically

Rob Coleman

"You can have half a symphony" is my favorite line by George Martin. John's song becomes a masterpiece when Paul comes up with the soft/low note to loud/high note symphony crescendo. 1967 was the best year for music and The Beatles led the way, like always.

Greg Hewson

I agree with the 1967 comment - as well as Sgt. Pepper they also produced Penny Lane/Strawberry Fields, Magical Mystery Tour EP and movie, Hello Goodbye/Walrus - and all in the year their manager, and driving force, passed away. Definitely their most creative year.

Richard Taylor

This was a joy to listen to.

Kim Senior

Very interesting insight to the formulation of some of their songs & George Martin’s involvement. There’s nothing to compare with the Beatles’ prolific & quality recordings! IMHO.😊

More! More! I could listen to this for hours.

Alan Livingston got to hear the master tape of Sgt Pepper DITL before it was pressed to vinyl.
Literally never sounded better at that moment. Brand new mix just finished.
I know a billion rock fans who would trade places.

Dean Swanson

Yes, Brian was very important. But in the end it was George Martin who was the fifth Beatle.
