I don't let difficult circumstances affect my mindset

Look at the way that I dropped all the weight
I successfully lost a significant amount of weight

I had to change, I had to bloom
I had to transform and grow as a person

Down a hundred pounds
I lost a hundred pounds in weight

Look at the way that I light up the room
I have a positive and vibrant presence

That's sacrifices, if you want it bad, then you gotta know what your appetite is
Achieving success requires making sacrifices and understanding your desires

And I want it bad, eat anything in my path
I have a strong desire for success and am willing to do whatever it takes

Only way that I got women to look at me was make them laugh
I used humor as a way to attract attention and interest from women

And now that i'm looking back all I can say is
Reflecting on my past experiences, all I can say is

Don't give up, no matter what any one says
Never give up on your dreams, regardless of what others say

Don't lose faith, no matter how hard it gets but
Maintain faith and belief in yourself, even during challenging times

I remember broke days
I recall the days when I was financially struggling

I remember being stuck only could afford the uber one way
I remember being in a situation where I could only afford one-way Uber rides

I remember all the thunder and the rain
I remember facing difficult and turbulent times

Checking for checks to come in the mail
I would anxiously wait for checks to arrive in the mail

I had to just count up my change
I had to meticulously count the small amount of change I had

Insufficient funds I had to put it back
Due to lack of money, I had to put items back while shopping

Leaving Ralphs, skating home, empty backpack on my back
After buying groceries from Ralphs, I would skate home with an empty backpack

Those are times that made me snap
Those difficult times tested my resilience and patience

That those are times that made me Matt
Those experiences shaped me into the person I am today

Those are times I'd never ever take em back
Although challenging, I wouldn't change those times as they played a significant role in my growth

I know Ma' you've been hurting from my fucking dad
Mom, I know you have been in pain due to my father's actions

I'd do anything to take away your pain
