Illusion
Matthew A. Wilkinson Lyrics

Live a simple life all of the time
Can you still see me?
Can you hear me breathe?
Can you feel me in the dead of night?
Hide yourself
Why don't I count down from ten?
Why don't I count down from ten?
I am an illusion
I don't want to lie
I make things appear
That weren't there before
I am an illusion
I don't want to lie
I make things appear
That weren't there before
I'm a simple soul with a simple mind
Live a simple life all of the time
Can you still see me?
Can you hear me breathe?
Can you feel me in the dead of night?
Hide yourself
Why don't I count down from ten?
Hide yourself
Why don't I count down from ten?
I am an illusion
I don't want to lie
I make things appear
That weren't there before
I am an illusion
I don't want to lie
I make things appear
That weren't there before
I am an illusion
I don't want to lie
I make things appear
That weren't there before
I am an illusion
I don't want to lie
I make things appear
That weren't there before
In Matthew A. Wilkinson's song "Illusion," the lyrics convey a sense of simplicity and self-reflection. The singer describes themselves as a "simple soul with a simple mind" and lives a straightforward life. They question whether others can truly see and understand them, asking if they can still be seen, heard, and felt, especially in the darkest moments of night. This highlights a sense of vulnerability and the desire for connection.
The repeated refrain of "Hide yourself, why don't I count down from ten?" suggests a need for retreat and introspection. The singer is grappling with their own identity and perhaps struggling with the pressure to conform or put on a façade. They acknowledge that they are an "illusion" and the line "I don't want to lie" suggests a desire for authenticity. However, they also acknowledge their ability to make things appear that weren't there before, which could be interpreted as a metaphor for their creative or transformative power.
Overall, "Illusion" explores themes of self-perception, authenticity, and the complex interplay between appearance and reality. The lyrics invite listeners to reflect on their own sense of identity and the ways in which they navigate the world.

I don't know if it's Simon Pegg's presence or Brad Bird's witty style but this scene gave me some Edgar Wright vibes.

fair point but im curious for people who comment "theres no logic here there and that" about a movie , is there any movie out there which have 100% logic in its entire duration ?

aboctok i don't get how it's idiotic or maybe I'm missing something. The tablet said "rendering complete" thereby allowing movement in front of the camera due to the hallway image being displayed on the screen. The camera wasn't being used to measure depth perception at that point.

I like how they made pains to make it a realistic technology, something that could actually exist. They could have just made it some unexplainable sci-fi techno marvel, but they gave it realistic limitations, showed how it works (how it renders, how the eye tracking works). The design was way more effort than we could have asked for.

These days, they would have just slapped a "nanotechnology" or "quantum physics" bullshit to justify that something downright outrageous would work.

THIS. That’s why I love MI movies. They keep things realistic enough that makes the scenes interesting
