Early years
Memphis "One Hit Away" Bleek's first mainstream rap vocals appeared on the Clark Kent produced song "Coming of Age", featured on Jay-Z's classic debut LP Reasonable Doubt. Shortly after, Bleek became the first artist signed to Roc-A-Fella Records.
"Coming of Age", ironiclly, was also the title of Memphis' debut LP, which didn't create massive records sales and chart-topping singles as his labelmate and peers' albums had. The same was the case of his second LP, "The Understanding", and third, "M.A.D.E", though the latter spawned his largest amount of sales yet (900,000).
Get Low label and rivalries
In the time between the releases of his second and third albums, Memphis Bleek started his own label, Get Low, which in turn led to the signing of former Junior MAFIA member Lil' Cease. The name of the label has sparked a hip-hop rivalry, or beef, between Memphis Bleek, JT tha Bigga Figga & The Game, the former of which built an independent record label with the same title.
Memphis Bleek was also caught in the middle of the epic Jay-Z and Nas battle, in which Bleek gained a few enemies, most notably Nas and Mobb Deep. Despite boosting Jay-Z and Nas's careers, the beef did little to help Bleek gain any more popularity than he had already attained.
Later years
Remaining one hit away, on May 17, 2005, Bleek released his fourth album titled "534" , in reference to the building he & mentor Jay-Z grew up in, located in the Marcy housing projects of Brooklyn. However, like many of Bleeks previous releases the album suffered in sales, despite decent exposure of the Swizz Beatz produced single 'Like That'.
In fall 2005, Memphis Bleek told MTV that he was recording an album called "The Process", that he would describe as a make or break album, saying "I want to do an album that's through the roof, I want to do a classic album. I feel that if this album I'm not recording is a classic, I'm not even gonna put it out. I have to do it bigger than anybody has ever done it. I have to make a good record this time, not just talking-junk records."The rapper has worked on the album since 2005 and during that time frame he would release the songs "Hustla", "Get Ya Money Off" and "Let It Off". During this time, he would also leave Roc-A-Fella after Jay-Z told him he could run his own company and had the proper distribution deals to do so. He found a new home in 2009 when he signed to Mass Appeal Entertainment which is where he will release his long anticipated album The Process is yet.

[Verse 1]
Yo, light the treez up, my hoez, D cupped, G's up
Memph Bleek, nigga, what?!?
Ride shotgun in the range,
bitches pay the price for thangz, rock ice and chains
Yo they change under the weather, it got a little cold, too iced out
You can hardly see the gold,
that's the way a nigga rock now, don't stop now
Still on the block now, shorty, hold the glock down
Only thingz changed, the bitches I pressed,
the way they fit in the dress
Like ‘em big in the breasts,
shoes gotta be the shit, don't walk in kicks
Yo you rollin wit the Memph, twitch the dutch and split
Break the fuck out, bang, back a truck out,
often see the rims these bitches'll bug out
You know what though?
I don't give a fuck though, Still in the cut, let the .44 blow
[Chorus]
Where my niggaz at?
Where my bitches at?
I love these streets, what you think of that?
My whole team rock rocks, we don't speak to cats
I'ma ball till I fall what you think of that?
What you think of that? What you think of that?

[Verse 2]

[Jay-Z]
You know niggaz stay frontin like I'm a clown or suttin
Like I don't get down or suttin
Like I don't toke a 4 pound of suttin
Round here frontin like my shit don't sound like nuttin
Like I ain't got the crown or suttin
Like I ain't the nigga who'll baste yo life form
I guess I ain't the reason you got that ice stolen
Like I ain't the muthafuckin dude wit the shoes
I guess I ain't the reason you rhyme the way you do
Like I ain't the nigga who mastered all flows
And the reason they can't sell them four point O's
Like I ain't 5 mill, and what did you do though?
Excuse me? Nigga don't confuse me
I ain't one of you rappers who got a deal
I'm one of the few niggaz spittin it and got it for real
And even if you hatin, you gotta knock it in yo wheels
And the day that I stop bein ill
[Chorus]
Where my niggaz at?
Where my bitches at?
I love these streets, what you think of that?
My whole team rock rocks, we don't speak to cats
I'ma ball till I fall what you think of that?
What you think of that? What you think of that?
I'm a real ass nigga, what you think of that?
Where my niggaz at?
Where my bitches at?
I love these streets, what you think of that?
My whole team rock rocks, we don't speak to cats
I'ma ball till I fall what you think of that?
What you think of that? What you think of that?
I'm a real ass nigga, what you think of that?
The song "What You Think of That" by Memphis Bleek featuring Jay-Z is a hip hop track about living a lavish lifestyle in the streets. It opens with Bleek introducing himself and stating that he loves being up front and personal with the crowd. The chorus of the song repeatedly asks where his niggas and bitches are at and declares his love for the streets. He boasts about his whole team rocking rocks and not speaking to cats, and that he's going to ball until he falls.
In the first verse, he emphasizes his love for getting high, his fondness of women with big breasts, and his preference for expensive shoes. He also raps about his readiness to fight and his impressive collection of rims. He notes that he doesn’t give a damn if people hate him while he’s still ‘in the cut’. In the second verse, Bleek encourages listeners to make money and become successful in life. He also emphasizes his prowess in the rap game, claiming to have mastered all flows and being responsible for the success of many other rappers.
The song is a testament to the lavish lifestyle that the two rappers enjoy. It’s a braggadocious anthem where they assert their dominance and proficiency in the rap game. Their tone conveys the impression that they're living the life that everyone aspires to, and it appears that they don't have a care in the world.

Beanie Sigel came. Beans came through and he found his position real quick. Look at all the things Beans did in establishing himself and his crew he just slid in and became the number 2. That said Bleek had this album and it was dope and his follow ups had some really dope beats.
Beans came Through and dropped a debut that almost got 5 mics in the source and he got the Hip Hop Quoteable, got mentioned on Nas Ether joint too. Beans was the truth.
