Devil's Dance
Metallica㼀 Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Yeah, I feel you too
Feel, Those things you do
In your eyes I see a fire that burns
To free the you
That's running through
Deep inside you know
Seeds I plant will grow
One day you will see
And dare to come down to me
Yes, come on, come on now take the chance
That's right, let's dance

Snake, I am the snake
Tempting, that bite you take
Let me free your mind
Leave yourself behind
Be not afraid
I've got what you need, hunger I will feed

One day you will see
And dare to come down to me
Yeah, come on, come on now take the chance
That's right come dance
Come dancing

One day you will see
And dare to come down to me
Yeah, come on, come on now take the chance
That's right

Hey, I feel you too
Feel, those things you do
In your eyes I see a fire that burns
To free the you
That's running through
Deep inside you know
Seeds I plant will grow

One day you will see
And dare to come down to me
Yeah, come on, come on now take the chance
That's right we'll dance

It's nice to see you here
Haha

Thank you
Thank you thank you

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Metallica's song Devil's Dance seem to be from the perspective of the devil himself, tempting and luring someone into giving in to their inner desires and impulses. The opening lines suggest that the devil understands and feels the same things that the person he's tempting does - perhaps suggesting a common ground or shared experiences that he can exploit. The fire burning in the person's eyes reflects a desire to be free from something and to indulge in their impulses, which the devil promises to fulfill.

The line "snake, I am the snake, tempting that bite you take" further emphasizes the devil's role as a seductive and dangerous figure, luring people into making choices that might ultimately harm them. He promises to free the person's mind and feed their hunger, suggesting a desire to break down barriers and unleash forbidden urges. The repeated refrain of "one day you will see and dare to come down to me" reinforces the temptation and the devil's confidence that the person will eventually succumb to his lure.

Overall, the lyrics of Devil's Dance play with the idea of temptation and the allure of giving in to darker impulses. It suggests that there is a side of everyone that wants to throw caution to the wind and live without inhibition, and that the devil is there waiting to exploit that desire.

You are so correct. Best blues rock albums of the 90's (load and reload). What the fuck else was going on musically in 96-97??? Hootie and the fucking blowfish?

rac fat

its because they were known for thrash metal and were big in that scene...black album was the transition and new audiences came in. then load and reload tried to capitalize on its success. But i dont fucking care either way theres not a single metallica album i hate xD
