End of the Line
Metallica렀 Lyrics

Need
More and more
Tainted misery

Bleed
Battle scars
Chemical affinity
Reign
Legacy
Innocence corrode

Stain
Rot away
Catatonic overload

Choke
Asphyxia
Snuff reality

Scorch
Kill the light
Incinerate celebrity

Reaper
Butchery
Karma amputee

Bloodline
Breeding fine
Death contagious deity

Hooked into this deceiver
Need more and more
Into the endless fever
Need more and more

New consequence machine
Burn through all your gasoline
Asylum overtime
Never mind
You reach the end of the line

Time
Choke the clock
Steal another day

Die
Faithfully
Narcissistic fade away

Twisted
Jump the rail
Shout at the crowd below

Breaker
Chase the ghost
The latest high to all time low

Hooked into this deceiver
Need more and more
Into the endless fever
Need more and more

New consequence machine
Burn through all your gasoline
Asylum overtime
Never mind
You reach the end of the line

Drop the hourglass of time
Spinning sand we will not find
As we gather here today
We bid farewell

The slave becomes the master
The slave becomes the master
The slave becomes the master
The slave becomes the master

Need more and more
Right now and ever after
Need more and more

New consequence machine
Burn through all your gasoline
Asylum overtime
Never mind

Dead hourglass of time
Sand we will not ever find
We gather here today
Say goodbye
'Cause you've reached the end of the line

The end of the line
The end of the line

The end of the line
You've reached the end of the line

Overall Meaning

"The End of the Line" by Metallica is a song that explores themes of addiction, self-destruction, and the inevitability of death. The opening lines, "Need more and more, Tainted misery," convey a sense of desperation and a desire to escape from the pain and suffering of life. The verses describe the destructive consequences of addiction and the toll it takes on the body and mind: "Bleed battle scars, Chemical affinity, Reign legacy, Innocence corrode." The repeated phrases, "Hooked into this deceiver, Need more and more" emphasize the addictive nature of the behaviors being described.

The middle of the song shifts focus to the inevitability of death and the need to make the most of the time we have: "Time, Choke the clock, Steal another day, Die faithfully, Narcissistic fade away." The lines "Drop the hourglass of time, Spinning sand we will not find" suggests that our time on this earth is limited and that we should make the most of it before it slips away. The repeated phrase "The slave becomes the master" emphasizes the importance of taking charge of our lives and making the most of the time we have.

In the final chorus, the phrase "Dead hourglass of time" serves as a reminder that our time on this earth is finite and that we should make the most of it: "Sand we will not ever find, We gather here today, Say goodbye, 'Cause you've reached the end of the line." The song ends on a somber note, emphasizing the importance of making the most of our time on this earth.

Hi, awesome tour! The only thing is there is a big gap in the subtitles between 2:57 and 4:33 (that's hours, not minutes):

02:57:31 The name Champs-Élysées’ is French for the name for the mythical Greek paradise known as the Elysian Fields.

02:57:49 This part of the famous street is a public park called the Jardin des Champs-Élysées (Garden of the Champs-Élysées).

04:33:57 In 1889, the French government organized a World's Fair to celebrate the centennial of the French Revolution.

04:34:11 A contest was held for the design of the monument that would be the centerpiece of the proposed 1889 Exposition Universelle (World's Fair).

Was that intentional? Or do some of the subs get left out by accident?

You really feel you are walking all by yourself here, no added music, just the sounds of the city. Just the right speed & time lingering on shops or views. Many Thanks!

I completely agree, so well done.

Paris, a great city marked by stately grandeur. I love Paris so much because it's a city with an unparalleled physical comeliness

Cob Anus

It’s like walking through the savannas of africa.

This is so awesome. I went to Paris in 2015 but was with someone that walked about 3 miles an hour and only stopped at her destination. I wasn't able to stop and look at the gorgeous architecture which is my favorite thing to do. Thank you for finally showing it to me! My treadmill walks have just flown by while watching this.

Prowalk Tours

Hey, that's great to hear. Glad it work out for you to watch while on your treadmill.

lewisbale1

There next time you go, don’t travel with that person so you’ll be able to enjoy it. We loved every minute of the week when we were there in January 2020, the next month everything shut down.

Kari Olson

@lewisbale1 Oh, I promise you. That will never, ever, ever happen again. lol. I also would rather stay the whole time in Paris unless I had a month or so. We were only in Paris five days and then went on to other parts of France. I could stay in Paris for a month and still not see everything I would want to.

Thank you Issac, what an absolutely stunning tour of Paris, and such lovely weather too! I can't wait until I can return to this beautiful city 😍

Prowalk Tours

Hey, yeah, it was a great day to film a walk. I hope all is going well...and that we can get out there and start filming again soon.
