Michael Bublé’s introduction to the music of the swing era came to him through his grandfather, who filled his grandson’s ears with the sounds of The Mills Brothers, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, and others. As Bublé eagerly absorbed the recordings, he began to realize that he wanted to be a singer and that this style of music, virtually foreign to his own generation, was what he wanted to perform.
With his grandfather’s assistance, Bublé soon learned a whole catalog of tunes and gained experience and exposure by singing as a guest with several local bands. While still in his teen years, he won the Canadian Youth Talent Search, released several independent albums, and performed in a musical review titled Swing that traveled across the U.S. It wasn’t long before Bublé was introduced to Grammy-winning producer David Foster during a famous Canadian wedding of Brian Mulroney’s daughter Caroline Mulroney. He later signed his first major recording contract with Reprise Records after that encounter.
The two Canadians began work on a debut album that would incorporate Bublé’s aptitude for pop standards into songs that spanned several decades. His self-titled debut disc was released in early 2003, and featured jazzy takes on old standards like “Fever” and “The Way You Look Tonight” as well as newer classics like “Moondance” and “How Can You Mend A Broken Heart”.
He finished off 2003 with an EP of holiday material, Let It Snow, and began 2004 with the live CD/DVD set Come Fly With Me. In 2005, It’s Time was a number one hit in Canada, Japan, Italy, and Australia, and made the top ten of both the UK and US. Later that year he released the live album Caught in the Act. More recently, Michael received a 2010 Grammy Award for 'Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album' for 'Michael Bublé Meets Madison Square Garden.

I'm comin' home, baby
(To you)
I'm comin' home, baby
(Do-do-do)
I'm comin' home, baby, now
(Do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do)
(Do-do-do-do)
I'm comin' home, baby, now
(Do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do)
I'm sorry now I ever went away
(Do-do-do-do)
Every night and day I go insane
I'm comin' home
(Come on home)
I'm comin' home, baby, now
(You know I'm waiting here for you)
I'm comin' home now real soon
(You've been gone)
I've been gone
(You don't know what I'm been going through)
I'm comin' home, well, I'm overdue
(Since you went away)
Expect me any day now real soon
I'm comin' home
(Come on home)
I'm comin' home
(You know I'm praying every night)
And everything is going to be fine
(Please come home)
I'm comin' home, baby, now
(I want to feel you hold me tight)
Expect to see me now at anytime
(When I'm in your arms...)
When you're in my arms, I'll be fine
I'm comin' home now
I'm comin' home right away
I'm comin' home now
I'm sorry I went away
Every night and day I miss you
(Come on home)
I'm comin' home, baby, now
(You know I'm praying every night)
Can't hold me back now
(Please come home)
I'm pressing on, baby, now
(I want to feel you hold me tight)
I want to feel you hold me tight
(When I'm in your arms...)
When I'm in your arms, I'll be fine
(Come one home)
I'm comin' home
(You know I'm counting every day)
I'm comin' home now, yeah, yeah, yeah
(You're so far)
The road is warm now
(Baby, let me hear you say...)
Let me hear you say
(That you're comin' home)
That I never will go away, no
I'm here to stay
(You know I'm waiting here for you)
I'm comin' home
(You don't know what I'm going through)
You don't know what I'm going through
(You know I'm waiting here for you)
Waiting here for you
Come on home
(You don't know what I'm going through)
(You don't know what I'm going through)
Oh, I'm comin' home (you know I'm waiting here for you)
(You don't know what I'm going through)
(You don't know what I'm going through)
The lyrics of Michael Bublé's song "Comin' Home Baby" express the singer's strong desire to return to the one he loves. Throughout the song, the repeated phrase "I'm comin' home, baby" serves as a declaration of his intention to be with his partner once again. He apologizes for going away and acknowledges that the separation has been difficult, causing him to go "insane" every night and day.
The lyrics also suggest that the singer is not alone in his longing for the reunion, as his partner has been waiting for him and doesn't know what he's been going through. However, he believes that everything will be fine once they are reunited, and he is willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen. His urgent desire to return home is indicated by the use of repetition and the emphatic tone of the lyrics, culminating in the final exclamation of "I'm comin' home!"
Overall, the song expresses the universal human desire for love and companionship, and the difficulty of being separated from the one you care about. It also highlights the power of music to express and evoke strong emotions, as Bublé's soulful voice conveys the depth of his longing and hope for a happy future with his loved one.
