I think what this demonstrates which maybe is what a lot of people noticed, is that the Miley Cyrus song isn't actually that bad in itself; it was ruined by the needless video of of basically mounting a large ball and sucking the business end of a large hammer.
It wasn't needed and took away all credibility from what could have been a decent début for Miley.
Which is probably why people like Sinead, Lorde and Miley's father are basically saying 'be careful'.

I have to admit - this mix is incredible! Wrecking Ball works so well to the Nothing Compares tune and Sinead's vocals fit so perfectly into the mix of the song. Been listening to this on repeat for the past day, too - so good job! (Although it should ideally be called 'Miley Cyrus FEAT Sinead O'Conner' but the 'VS' title is understandable after the two's recent public row...)

To me it looks like Miley has the tears of an actress, almost as if someone blew pepper in her face. With Sinead I can see the pain in her face and it comes off as much more genuine. I sure wished Miley and Sinead could have done THIS on the awards instead of the Robin Thicke crap! I found this more deep, sensual, real, and desirable! I wish girls/women could learn that pure raw vunerability in lyrics and love is far more captivating then being half dressed and a hot mess! I like One Direction and pink. I don't approve of many of miley's choices but we all have our own opinions on music. I listen to nirvana too and other older bands and i'm a late 90's kid. Not everyone can like what you like its just how people are. Critizicing their choices doesn't make them want to change them and it doesn't make you want to change yours either. thats just how the world works.

No offense to the person who did this remix (and I truly mean that) but that... that was just terrible. Miley is in no way, shape, or form even close to being in the league of artists like Sinead or Prince, so this was honestly disgraceful -- hell, if anything, it just made Miley's flaws all that much more apparent. That goes for physical flaws as well. I mean seriously, what the fuck is up with those eye lashes and the crazy effects with her eyes? Watching the video, it's like going back and forth between a beautiful woman in her natural essence, and an alien circus clown or something. Quite an alarming contrast, to say the least.

So yeah, don't take it personally Robin. The remix itself was well done, it's just that I think you could have found a much better artist to match up with Sinead, personally. Though, I guess with the recent controversy between both of them, I guess I can understand why you chose this combination.

(This is obviously all just my own opinion, so take it for what it is.)
