@Ryan Akwar They do not give away awards to portrayals of notorious serial killers or Nazi gestapos even if the performance was phenomenal (same happened with Ralph Fiennes in Schindler's List)..... It takes very high class acting to make the audience hate or fear the character. He did not deserve the Emmy, the Emmy deserved him. Anyway... It's not the first time awards goof up. The series and his acting is great tho!

@Antherny I read that it was more how laborious making what Fincher does as a TV show - normally Fincher does movies but each scene of every episode is done as meticulous as his films. Apparently for Season 2, he started, but then had to rewrite the entire season from scratch. Working on a creative project, you know that after a while it gets boring, tedious, like a chore - even to the point of just wanting to start something new. Such a shame bc Mindhunter might be Fincher's best work as of now, and it was just starting really.

@Aman Ojha I agree, it is the whole "A terror so gastly that no mortal can even begin to describe it" Whenever you leave out what it actually is, looks like, the viewers, reader or audience makes up their own image of what it may be, and whatever comes into the mind of each individual is far greater then what any author or writer can get down on paper. Because it varies so much from person to person. I think actually somebody said exactly that (as in a qoute from a writer) but I dunno who.

I disagree, the older dark haired cop is wayyyyyy over the top in his acting. He really puts on this facade of shit don't stink arrogance that is just not necessary. You can tell he isn't even there mentally, it seems he is only focused on what he looks like to the audience and I can see right through his fake confidence.
Watch his over acting at approx 6:20 or so...man he almost tilted his head 90 degrees holy over actor, like I said his acting doesn't match the scene at all, and he keeps giving off this vibe that his shit dont stink....amateur actor

The line that gets me is “it’s like a switch” which is how a lot of serial killers would describe themselves. One minute they’re calm and could pass for a human being, the next they’re a monster

This show is so damn good. The portrayals of the serial killers are all fantastic, but special mention goes out to Kemper and Manson so far. They're just so damn spot on it's insane. Berkowitz was another who did a damn fine job; they even looked identical.

When you find out “Ed Kemper” was a preschool teacher for 8 years. Cameron Britton is a brilliant actor and should’ve won an Emmy for this portrayal, it was spot-on, and definitely even creepier than the real Edmund.

@Free, but not quite I have to disagree slightly. We can watch video of the actual Kemper interviews. That doesn't mean we know what it was like to be in a room with him. Only those agents who interviewed Kemper can describe all the nuances, all the hidden emotions, all the visual cues, the sheer intimidating size of the man, esp a man who committed such horrific crimes. Unless we have first hand knowledge from years and years of studying the psychopathy of killers, saying an actor isn't believable as an actual serial killer is not really a fair assumption. The show presented Kemper as seen through the eyes of those agents at that moment in time, with full awareness of his crimes. Hey, I'm a true crime aficionado myself, but that certainly doesn't make us experts per se.

@HereComesTheBlues I also wasn't impressed by his Kemper impersonation. Something about him just wasn't believable as a serial killer or even overall menacing or troubled person. In his interviews, although Kemper is cool, calm, and collected you can sense something troubling or not right under the surface. This guy never captured that.

I honestly don't find it that great... having watched actual interviews of Kemper I find his depiction in MH to be a bit slow, not as smart as the original, surely not as impressive, compensated by heavy walking added noises (each step he takes is like an elephant's) and this disturbing (yet unoriginal) ambient music which kinda forces the audience into the atmosphere of anguish, one that should build up more naturally given the, well... topic. Can't help but feel a little disappointed by those climatic moments, though the show is great work and quality overall

My dad has a few buddies from his days working with Guarda and the Army that went into the prison system to work as guards. One of them actually met Ed Kemper a few times, and he said the way this actor portrayed him was so spot on with everything his voice, body language, etc that it was so impressive and creepy at the same time.

Ive watched the whole mindhunter season a few times, and probably every serial killer documentary on youtube, and this man has his portrayal as Ed Kemper down to an absolute fine art. Its almost scary. If you watch the interviews with the real Ed Kemper, and then you listen to Cameron Britton lower his voice to meet Ed's pitch, its like watching another real life interview. Its so good its scary

"You feel it" yes you actually do because although Hannibal Lector is terrifying, and remarkably like a modern day vampire cannibal, Ed Kemper really exists. This guy deserves a Major Award because I do not think someone else could pull it off as well as he does. He is able to channel a darkness that few ever can unless they did those things, or were a great actor.
