Stevie's very different here! I read that Miranda Hart made her friendlier so that Miranda (the character) had an ally in the show. This harsh version of Stevie even got booed by the audience!

I love miranda but this doesn't feel like miranda, it seems more like a rip-off with everyone's hair being what I call horrible and the joke shop being too cluttered. I love what happened to the show and I'm glad it didn't stay like this

if you listen to the original Miranda which was called Miranda Hart's joke shop it was broadcast on BBC Radio 2 UK when you listen to Miranda Hart's joke shop the radio series did practically the same as the TV series Miranda with the same cast Miranda Hart Patricia Hodge Sarah Harland and Tom Ellis very familiar if you love Miranda and check out the heart joke shop on BBC audio CD

I know, right? Call Me Kat kinda sucks. The cast has zero chemistry, the humor is formulaic, and most of the acting (or maybe the directing) is second rate. Not such fun.

The thing is, only Americans who watched Miranda would even know that Call Me Kat was a remake because they're nothing alike. When Miranda makes a mistake, it's funny. When Kat makes a mistake, it's just sad and pathetic.

@@jwb52z9 Call Me Kat is already being dismissed as one of American TV's worst shows EVER! I had high hopes for it. It was developed by Big Bang Theory alumni and Maranda Hart was directly involved. But for every UK-to-US transfer that does work (All In the Family, Sanford & Son, Three's Company) there's a dozen that DON'T! There have been three Yank attempts at Fawltey Towers... and they all SUCK!!

The only thing I wish that they took away from this was the authenticity of the joke shop. I like the lived-in look that the set design team ultimately settled on, but it doesn't look or feel like a gift/joke shop but rather a chaotic space that surprisingly still draws in customers.

If they kept Stevie like this then Miranda would be the only silly one and that would alienate her and make her simply feel like the weirdo in a sitcom, whereas this is her sitcom, I'm glad this didn't make it past a single episode

Actually the shop looks so much better like that. Whenever I watch Miranda I keep thinking that her jokeshop doesn't actually look like a shop at all...:/

Yeah but stuffed animals and funny items seem so much more 'Miranda' than fake breasts and 'in your face" sexually themed items.
If Miranda in the show is so uncomfortable with (sayiing the word) sex, then why would she start thát kindof joke-shop? I feel the series (as they have been) were friendlier and more calming and childlike.
Miranda ordering a childrens-bed seems to be more in line with a shop selling hats and flags, compared to someone selling vibrators just one floor down.

True, but chocolate ones can melt, they're less indimidating :P
No, I mean, when Penny accidently bought the bunny-toy, it was a misdelivered item from their joke-shop. But they never showed it and it was not featured hanging on the wall.
I don't know, I think they chose that because nót-featuring plastic breasts on the wall, makes the atmoshpere cosy and more comfortable to watch.

I think Stevie being more uptight would have been better after seeing this as there would have been more of a contrast. As it was, Stevie was just barely more adult than Miranda.
