End Of Time
Monster Magnet Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Someone tell those slobs that they got it wrong
They screwed us good and gave the whole circus away
Venus warm my bed 'cause I'm coming home, now
I'm crashing the ship and just walking away
Somebody told me once that you were deeper than darkness
A shining face on a body that could send me to war
Naked flesh in the heart of a nuclear sunrise, baby
Drain that lizard's tank until there ain't anymore
Throw my burned out head in a lake of fire
I'll satisfy my soul on the other side
Pump me till I'm gone and I can't get back
I'll smoke you fuckers out at the end of time
I saw this girl, once... her hair was on fire
Her eyes like stars
She's never left my mind
A planet bird singing her phoenix song
Electric children's voices at the end of time
Somebody told me once that you were deeper than darkness
A shining face on a body that could send me to war
Naked flesh in the heart of a nuclear sunrise, baby
Drain that lizard's tank until there ain't anymore
Throw my burned out head in a lake of fire
I'll satisfy my soul on the other side
Pump me till I'm gone and I can't get back
I'll smoke you fuckers out at the end of time
Wash my tired brain in an acid bath
Fuck me till I'm dead and I can't get back

I'll satisfy my soul on the other side
And smoke my baby out at the end of time

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Monster Magnet's End of Time are intense and mysterious, invoking a sense of apocalyptic imagery and sexual energy. The song begins with a sense of anger and frustration as the singer seems to be lashing out at those who have betrayed him or the society in general. He feels like someone got it wrong and gave away the whole circus, indicating a sense of disillusionment with the way things are going. The singer longs to return to his home planet Venus for warmth and comfort as he crashes his spaceship and walks away.

The second half of the song takes on a more sexual and psychedelic tone as the singer talks about a woman with hair like fire and eyes like stars who has never left his mind. He also mentions electric children's voices at the end of time, which could be interpreted as a metaphor for the coming of a new era or the end of the world as we know it. The lyrics speak of sexual exploration and satisfaction, suggesting that the singer wants to drain his lizard's tank until there ain't anymore and satisfy his soul on the other side. The song ends with a reference to smoking out his baby at the end of time, leaving the listener with a sense of foreboding and mystery.

In my opinion, this is MM best song. Absolutely mind blowing. And they have a lot of great songs. I love the energy that carries throughout it. Masterpiece.

Greg Hutson

Just brilliant songwriting, MM is criminally underrated

Get To Da Choppa

Yeah, it's kind of disgusting how underrated this band really is.

justBinia

Their lyrics are great, but I'm just amazed by the actual song/melody that they write to. I don't hear anything like it elsewhere, and it always pulls me back to them.

RogueRockRadio.com

Insufficient airplay, to say the least. May have something to do with the explicit lyrics. Thank you FCC. RogueRockRadio.com

Alpha Beta

what a great song what a great band! loving them since 1993, when Superjudge came out

Genaro Cuellar

Spine of God!

Geno Hskn

Me too! Superjudge was my first Monster magnet album. And I bought spine of god a week later. And, by the time dopes came out, it was the new album! Grabbed that sucker as soon as it hit the shelves! And then shortly after (no shit!) I saw 25...tab for the first time, and at the time thought it was the new album, but it was way earlier. When I realized that, I thought I truly found a hidden jem. Kuz to this day, I'm still not sure if it was before or after spine.

The Blastronaut

I don't know where the End of Time will lead me. I only want Dave Wyndorf to greet me there with a bong.
