Bedroom Eyes
Mureau Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

That girl
I hear her voice from across the room
I see her body up close
Her sweat feels just like venom
I hope your boyfriend will never know
All things I wanna do to her
I trace the curves of her body
With my fingertips

We'll spend our lives in the bedroom
Were gonna lock all the doors
She is the ghost of my hallways
My fingers tracing her movements

We slept in the same tiny bed
I covered all her corners
With my hands
I love to feel her on my skin

I love her sweat on my body
I am a secret she wants to keep
Folded in laundry
Tucked in the sheets

I love her body in my control
I love to feel her on my skin
She is my favorite Friday night
Shes got more curves than a canyon road

She calls when she wants something evil
Im glad to give her just what she needs
Take her straight to the bedroom floor
She stares at me with those bedroom eyes
Bedroom eyes,

We'll spend our lives in the bedroom
Were gonna lock all the doors

She is the ghost of my hallways
My fingers tracing her movements

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Mureau's song, "Bedroom Eyes," describe the obsessive desire of the singer for a girl in the room. The girl's voice and body captivate him, and the intense attraction he feels is likened to the feeling of venom. The singer desires to do all sorts of things to her, and he traces her curves with his fingertips. They spend their time in the bedroom, and the singer feels as though they will spend their entire lives there, locking all the doors. The lyrics suggest that the singer has a secret relationship with the girl, and she calls him when she wants something "evil."

The lyrics paint a picture of a dangerous and addictive relationship, with the singer clinging onto the girl's every movement and loving to feel her on his skin. The lyrics repeatedly state "She is my favorite Friday night," reinforcing the notion that the relationship is purely physical, and the singer only desires her company on nights out. Despite this, there is a sense of possessiveness present in the lyrics, with the singer describing the girl as "my favorite" and stating that she is "the ghost of my hallways."

In conclusion, "Bedroom Eyes" depicts a toxic and dangerous relationship between two individuals who are inexplicably drawn to each other, regardless of the consequences. The lyrics suggest a type of obsession, addiction, and an unhealthy relationship built purely on physical attraction with no emotional connection.

@Mureaumusic So I downloaded the album illegally out of curiosity, and I really dig the production and variation. This album is as good if not better than I hoped it would be. The clean vocals actually sound really fresh and original, reminds me a bit of From a Second Story but with 8-strings, you guys use 8-strings right? Sometimes I can't tell, but anyways great fucking job.

@Mureaumusic I'm by no means a guitarist or knowledged in that, but I think that's pretty cool. I really like the tone, and you guys groove hard. The only song I didn't really like was california, but songs like Vessels are fucking great!

Donnell Stephens

I wasn't a big fan of this band at all, but my band just played with them this past Saturday, and they have a great live sound and good stage presence. On top of that, they found a bag in a dumpster with 5 little kittens outside the venue and got them adopted by the end of the night. Great dudes. Great musicians. I wish them all the best.
