Maybe it's just one day that I hope you'll say
Leaving I'm leaving here on Sunday
Maybe it's just one way that I hope you'll say
I wonder when you see me you will say
I hope and pray tomorrow's not that day
That is why I'm leaving here on Sunday
The song "Sunday" by My Superhero is about the uncertainty and anxiety of leaving someone behind. The song speaks of the desire to hear the person they are leaving say something that will make them stay. It is about someone who is leaving, but they haven't received the assurance that they need from the person they are leaving behind. The lyrics speak of the hope and prayer that tomorrow will not be the day where they receive that assurance, which is why they are leaving on Sunday. The song creates a sense of a tug of war between the desire to stay and the need to move on.
The lyrics to "Sunday" by My Superhero are powerful in their simplicity. They capture the emotions of uncertainty and longing that someone who is leaving may feel. The opening line of the song, "Leaving I'm leaving here on Sunday", sets the tone for the rest of the lyrics.
