Alright people! I have read most of the comments here, and I can say I pretty much admire the brutal honesty displayed - at first glance I got pissed about the descriptions of West Point although the very time this video was filmed I was there just a lil kid then, and the boy seen dancing on the beach used to be my buddy Shaki Kamara who got killed in 2014 by government force during the quarantine of the Ebola virus.

West Point has evolved so much at 19years I am typing this today - so glad I came across this Video and I am proud of it. We were once a really shitty neighborhood, but I loved it living here and this place is somewhere I can't forget. The day this video was filmed I followed the crew from the very first time I saw them till the end - which made me return home late and was flogged..lol

This brought back memories and now west point is cleaner, but being battled with Drugs abuse and sea erosion; much of the places in this video is no more.

Please can you come again and do another video? Some of the people i see in the video in the west point part have joined our ancestors - peace be unto their poor souls.

With tears in my eyes I never knew this day would come. This feels more like a reunion knowing all the time I was with the crew which helped us tell our stories.

Thank you for what you did! Thank you for making my day - now i am glad why I became a journalist

I arrived in Liberia in March of 2005, and lived there for a total of 3 years. I can't believe I'm only seeing this video now. It brings back so many memories and emotions. It took years to rebuild the infrastructure that was destroyed during the 14 years of civil war there, what they called WW1, WW2 and WW3. Years before garbage disposal began, some forms of electricity, shops, restaurants, etc. Fourteen thousand UN peacekeepers were there with tanks and barbed wire trying to return peace to the country and help rebuild it. It wasn't safe. We used to call that beach depicted in the video "poopie point". It was common to just see everyone crap on the beaches. They used to be beautiful beaches from what I understand (50s and 60s). People would even vacation in Monrovia. There are amazing and wonderful people in Liberia, but the underlying evil (cannibalism, torture, rape, etc.) was horrendous. The stories sickening. And those boy soldiers had to restart their lives later knowing the atrocities they were part of. It was difficult, sad, heartbreaking.

Alright people! I have read most of the comments here, and I can say I pretty much admire the brutal honesty displayed - at first glance I got pissed about the descriptions of West Point although the very time this video was filmed I was there just a lil kid then, and the boy seen dancing on the beach used to be my buddy Shaki Kamara who got killed in 2014 by government force during the quarantine of the Ebola virus.

West Point has evolved so much at 19years I am typing this today - so glad I came across this Video and I am proud of it. We were once a really shitty neighborhood, but I loved it living here and this place is somewhere I can't forget. The day this video was filmed I followed the crew from the very first time I saw them till the end - which made me return home late and was flogged..lol

This brought back memories and now west point is cleaner, but being battled with Drugs abuse and sea erosion; much of the places in this video is no more.

Please can you come again and do another video? Some of the people i see in the video in the west point part have joined our ancestors - peace be unto their poor souls.

With tears in my eyes I never knew this day would come. This feels more like a reunion knowing all the time I was with the crew which helped us tell our stories.

Thank you for what you did! Thank you for making my day - now i am glad why I became a journalist
