The song "Napoli" by Nana Mouskouri tells the story of a young girl who runs barefooted in the streets of Naples to sell bouquets of flowers to passersby. The lyrics describe her free spirit and joy, represented by the blue sky in her eyes and the spring she brings to the people with her flowers. Despite her poverty and uncertainty about where she will get her next meal, the girl enjoys her life and the beauty around her. The singer, who is probably older than the girl, observes her from a distance and contemplates the city of Naples, which is also portrayed as a source of beauty and inspiration.
The song has a bittersweet tone, as the singer recognizes that they will never see the young girl again, but they will always remember her and the flowers she sold them. The lyrics suggest that even though the girl's life may have been difficult, she made the most of it, and her spirit lives on in the memory of those who knew her. The song is a tribute to Naples and its people, who find beauty and joy in the midst of adversity.

TESTO
Sei panni stesi e fantasia
i signori nascono signori
Sei San Gennaro e l’eresia
Pulcinella vieni via, abbandona quella compagnia
noi ritorniamo ancora noi
grandi sentimenti e poi

@eliosergiocosta
Commovente.
