Neuroticfish’s sole member was Sascha Mario Klein. Klein cites his musical inspirations as such bands as Skinny Puppy, Nine Inch Nails, and Depeche Mode, and began experimenting with music on his own in the early 90’s. After Neuroticfish was born, Klein did not make the typical efforts of a muscian to send out a demo; instead, he relied on the internet as a medium of expression for his music. Klein was eventually offered a place on a synthpop compilation called A Reflexion of Synthpop. From this point on, Neuroticfish gained popularity in the club scene, where he has made an impact ever since.
Klein gained a bit of notoriety after one of his songs contained the sample "Electronic body music is dead." It has since become somewhat of a catchphrase for Neuroticfish.
On January 4th 2008 the official Neuroticfish MySpace page had a message announcing that the band would cease to exist after its performance at the 2008 edition of the Wave Gothic Treffen festival in Leipzig, Germany.
In July 2012 the website was updated after the project seemed finished. The latest updates say that Sascha and Henning Verlage are working together during Winter 2012 and Spring 2013 on a new album.
In 2015 Neuroticfish released "A Sign Of Life", his first album in 10 years. It is exclusively sold at the band's page at Bandcamp, digitally, and physical albums only being sold at Neuroticfish's regular web page.
You're the Fool
Neuroticfish Lyrics

And I can see you running
I can feel the impact
It's sad but true
Maybe you will see
The trees but not the forest
The cover of a book
You try to climb a mountain
I'm standing on your grave
You will try to reach me
I'll still be safe
You try to keep your secrets
But I see you through
You always try to blame me
But you're the fool
Maybe you will think
I like to play these games
But I can not imagine
A harder job to do
You are one of those
Always blame the others
Facing circumstances
You never understand
Neuroticfish's song "You're the Fool" is an insightful commentary on human behavior and relationship dynamics. The lyrics speak to the idea that some people are so focused on their own goals and desires that they cannot see the bigger picture or understand the consequences of their actions. The singer observes the subject of the song, who is blind to the impending danger ahead, as if running towards a wall. The impact of their mistake is inevitable and tragic as they are unable to see the forest through the trees or the revelation of of a book when they are fixated on the cover.
The singer furthermore speaks to the subject's failure to understand the singer themselves: they may try to climb a mountain, but they are essentially standing on the subject's grave. Despite the subject trying to keep their secrets, the singer can see through them, and the subject always attempts to blame the singer, but ultimately they are the fool. The singer highlights that the subject is always blaming others and cannot comprehend the circumstances that face them.
Overall, the song is an excellent example of Neuroticfish's ability to craft observational lyrics that speak to universal themes of human relationships and behavior. The song's ability to adapt to varying interpretations truly makes it a poignant commentary on our actions.
