I am so glad you enjoyed it and I hope you share with your family. I have listened to the album many times, particularly as the Chopin Preludes are one of the greatest pieces of music ever. FYI - this album seems to have been given to a US diplomat during a concert in Moscow - judging from the autograph. I got it a second-hand store in Washington. i hope you are ok with the transfer...I tried to keep it as close to the LP as possible. (It was a happy coincidence to also see he is connected to U of Cincinnati, where my brother-in-law is also on the faculty of the med school.) If you would like a CD of this which would be better quality sound, let me know - happy to send to you.

James Tocco is a great artist and human being. Thank you for sharing this wonderful recording.

Sensational. James Tocco is one of the last remaining links to the golden age of piano playing and one of the finest pianists of the twentieth and twenty first centuries. Having studied with Arrau privately for many years in NYC, one can clearly hear Arrau’s influence in Tocco’s playing. Thank you so much for posting this treasure.

@Pacifist He is still on faculty of the University of Cincinnati Conservatory. I am not a pianist myself, just a fan of piano. If you see the rest of my sight you will see quite a bit on Jorge Bolet. I have focused mostly on him, and have done a number of transfers of his music from vinyl to digital. But I was happy to transfer James Tocco's album and one by Earl Wild another Ohioan. It sounds as if you as a professional pianist. There is a phone number and other contact information on the U of Cincinnati website should you want to try and reach him.

@ly776 Classic Vinyl Does he still teach there? Tocco must be an amazing teacher. I took lessons in NY with another Arrau pupil, German Diez, until Diez's passing. He was a great pianist and an amazing teacher. Diez taught me the "Arrau Technique". Diez and Tocco probably knew each other. Diez mentioned Arrau at every single lesson, I am sure Tocco does the same. Arrau inspires me a lot.
