I usually listen to hip hop, heard this one by weird coincidence on the radio...
...hard to put the feelings I get from this into words.
Breathtaking. This man loves his craft. I would like for more classical musicians to play like this so that more people could relate to it. I have no idea if there are more like him but to me this sounds like a one in a lifetime artist
Would definitely pay to see him live.
Kudos

I've had this CD for more than 25 years. Kennedy's passion, his attack, is beyond compare. The "Winter" movement is extraordinary.

I played violin from the age of 8 then gave up at 16. Then at 17, after a year break, I heard this for the first time and the entire world of classical music exploded into my life. I learnt it without the music from sheer desire alone. The joy of it was magnificent. I will always be in Nigel’s debt. Winter also my favourite. Wonderfully brutal. Then came Bruch and then Brahms, and then Mendelssohn, then Elgar then Mozart then, well, it was never-ending. Opera, Westside Story, you name it, in a cascade of sheer joy and amazement, like being born again. Thank you Nig !!

Nigel Kennedy´s interpretation gave the Four Seasons a razor sharp edge that had never been heard before. Most other interpretations are softer and more "by the book", but after hearing this I can never again listen to any other version. Well done!

I like this version aswell, but i find the one by Max Richter even better. I hope you´ll give it a shot.

Love this, you can hear his enthusiasm.
Would have liked to have seen a live performance

The first album I ever purchased, loved his style and (to my young ears) aggression in parts. Further down the line I got into thrash metal - I still cite this recording as an influence. Masterful.
