Long Way from Home
Nitro Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

It's been so long since I felt your touch, baby
When I'm all alone I know how much yeah, yeah, baby baby

Baby, I'll be back to you someday (someday)
Cause when I get home, I'll be there to stay

Long way from Home, in your arms back where I belong
Long way from Home, so baby please don't cry
Cause I'll be Home tonight from this long and winding road
Long and winding road

Minutes turn to hours baby, can we pass the test of time
I love you baby, cause I am yours and you are mine

Baby, I'll be back to you someday (someday)
Cause when I get home, I'll be there to stay

Long way from Home, in your arms back where I belong
Long way from Home, so baby please don't cry
Cause I'll be Home tonight from this long and winding road
Long and winding road

Long way from Home
Long way from Home
Long way from Home
Long way from Home

Baby, I'll be back to you someday (someday)
Cause when I get home, baby I'll be there to stay

Coming Home, yes I'm coming Home, baby
Coming Home, yes I'm coming Home, baby
Coming Home, yes I'm coming Home, baby
Coming Home, yes I'm coming Home, baby
Coming Home, yes I'm coming Home, baby

Coming Home, yes I'm coming Home, baby
Coming Home, yes I'm coming Home, baby

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Nitro's song Long Way From Home are about a man who is longing to be reunited with his loved one, who he has been separated from for some time. The opening lines express how long it has been since the man has felt his partner's touch, which highlights the physical distance between them. He acknowledges how much he loves and misses his significant other, and promises to return home to stay. Although they are far apart, the man still wants his partner to know that they are his and he is theirs.

The chorus of the song emphasizes the distance the man has traveled and his desire to return home. He sings about how he wants to be in his partner's arms, where he belongs, and pleads for them not to cry because he will be home soon. The long and winding road mentioned in the lyrics is a metaphor for the journey the man has taken to get to where he is now. He hopes that his partner can pass the test of time and that their love can endure the distance between them. The ending of the song is a repetition of the promise to come home to his beloved partner.

Overall, Nitro's Long Way From Home features lyrics that express the longing and love between two people who are separated by distance. The song's message is that even though the journey to reunite with a loved one may be long and difficult, the hope and promise of returning home and being with them again can make it worthwhile.

My dad showed me these guys when i was a kid in the early 2000s
He called them the most talented, dorkiest band ever.
Coming back 20 years later, he was spot on 😂

I’m not sure if I occasionally watch this video because it’s kind of catchy or because of the hot blonde. The members of the band have a ton of talent but it was all lost with their attempt to go beyond over the top. I recognize the talent but what the band put out was a mess.

@Mike Mike she was Julie on Growing Pains

Director: How many 80’s band cliches would you like in your video?
